I would like to know more about #1 - Solich's womanizing and maybe getting his side piece pregnant. I live in Florida, but I have heard various versions of this story. One version is he dated a woman from David City, NE during his years as head coach at UNL, which is adultry, but at least the woman was not a student and he did not reportedly get her pregnant. Another version is he got a co-ed Nebraska student pregnant. Three, the womanizing is the biggest reason why he got let go by Steve Pedersen in 2003. Four, Frank Solich had alcohol issues (higher functioning alcoholic?) at UNL, which ultimately led to the DUI in Ohio Univ. What is the truth? And is #2 true? If so, what happened to Frank Solich's bastard child? And why did Frank's wife stay with him and put up with this behavior? And why did UNL not help him seek alcohol rehab therapy?
Also, tell me more about Carl Pelini and Craig Bohl? I never knew anything about Craig Bohl's off-the-field issues. From what I knew about Carl Pelini from the message boards is: Carl loved going to the bars. He slept with a boosters's daughter-in-law and former Miss Nebraska from Omaha Burke and that caused a divorce for both their marriages. Carl lived with Bo Pelini and his wife initially during his divorce. The former Miss Nebraska dated Carl for several years after the incident, while Carl was in Boca Raton, FL coaching at Florida Atlantic University (FAU). I guess the reports of Carl Pelini caught using cocaine at FAU are consistent with his drug habits at UNL. And why are we not helping our coaches with substance abuse issues? Frank's alcoholism and Carl's cocaine abuse should have been nipped in the bud at UNL rather than kicking the can down the road to another school to fix?
When I was at UNL, the two big things I personally saw or had second hand info on were Kevin Ramaekers's steroid rage issues and Scott Baldwin's mental health decline. When I was a freshman, I went to a UNL baseball team party off campus. One of Nebraska baseball players was really drunk and started talking s*** to Kevin Ramaekers. The next thing I knew it the UNL baseball players nose was broken and his nose was literally turned sideways by Ramaekers's punch. Kevin had like no neck and was a muscle bound specimen at that time, so I figured his behavior was more or less 'roid rage.' And I made sure to be super friendly to Kevin or else that might happen to me. Regarding Scott Baldwin, when I was a junior, I lived off campus near 27th Street and Vine Street and during late winter Turd Alberts and some other football players including Scott Baldwin were in a car around my neighborhood. I think they were going to a party or something. Anyway, Scott Baldwin freaked out and left the car by foot. I believe Turd Alberts almost got into a fight with Scott Baldwin because Scott's behavior was so wild and irrational. We all know what happened to Scott Baldwin over the next 2-3 years after that initial incident when he got shot and paralyzed in Omaha, but I wondered whether Scott had severe traumatic brain injury from football because the longer his career went at UNL, the worse his mental health deteriorated. I mean Scott Baldwin's mental issues were a lot like the Boston College players with TBI, who committed suicide despite everyone trying to help him.
