So looking right now at DL/DE rotation, these guys are in the mix right?
  • UCLA kid
  • IWCC kid
  • Pitt Kid
  • Lenhardt
  • Pietrzak
  • Nwaneri
  • Moore
  • Van Poppel
Can they get anything out of:
  • Lefotu
  • Goldman
  • Parrott
  • Murphy
  • Davidson
  • Hoffken
  • Simpson
  • Terry
You probably should expect something from Davidson, Murphy, Hoffken, Parrott, Goldman and Lefotu as they are entering into their 3rd year. Not full time snaps, but should be breaking into the rotation. If not then they probably should be processed after 2026.
Would love to add another that could kick Moore out of that rotation.

  • Lefotu : He has shown nothing so far in practices or games. He would be processed but he wants to stay.
  • Goldman : He is better as an OL than as a DL but of the next 3 he is the best of a limited group of player talent
  • Parrott: Already in the transfer portal, is a walk-on with one year remaining, will go to FCS school
  • Murphy: Would have been a good OT but they never approached him about changing. He isn't going to see serious snaps ever as a DL.
  • Davidson: Was recruited as an OG and didn't make the cut. They put him on the DL because he is big. Should encourage him to seek a school where he can play OG.
  • Hoffken: Kid from Germany who came here after playing some German league American football. He is a developmental player but he is athletic. whether he can make the jump is debatable.
  • Simpson: Very high level talent who was injured his true freshman year. Will be a difference maker on the team. He is a 3 - 5 tech DT, who will play some edge his first year back from recovery.
  • Terry: High level player at the 0 - 3 tech, but again was injured in his true freshman season and was out for the year. BIG Wrestling champ in-state player from Omaha North. Look for him as the future 0 - 3 starter in a few years.

Big get. Well done Rhule and co

  • UCLA kid( Anthony Jones) He is an edge not a DT. He'll be competing against Lenhardt, Pietrzak, Nwaneri, all of whom are more talented. He is going to be a senior this year.
  • IWCC kid( Andy Burburija): Keep in mind this isn't official yet, the paperwork and statements haven't been made. JC kids are always a bit of a crap shoot. He could be as good as Moore or not.
  • Pitt Kid (Whittigton): Not sure he will see the field, this feels like Jayden George all over again. We got the wrong guy from Pitt.
  • Lenhardt: The guy just keeps working hard. This is his senior year. I think he'll probably surprise us a bit, but he isn't as talented by any stretch as the next two players.
  • Pietrzak: In light of Nwaneri, I had paid too little attention to true freshman Cade Pietrzak. The guy is a stud, and is a smart player. Will end up being one of two impressive EDGE players on this team in a few years. Both of whom have NFL ability.
  • Nwaneri: What can I say other than this is the most talented EDGE or DL player we have had since SUH. He is going to be drafted when he finishes and the only question is how high. He has to continue to improve his game however and with a new DC it will be interesting.
  • Moore: Lost in the shuffle here is that Moore was playing his 1st year of football at the collegiate level, he had missed the prior year due to injury. What can he do? I don't know, but I do know that we can't assume we know what his level of ability is yet.
  • Van Poppel: Something was seriously wrong with RVP last year. I don't know what it was, but I do know that the player we saw as a true freshman in 2023 wasn't the guy we saw in 2025. Can he get his mojo back?? I don't know but I sure hope so.

Idk what to truly expect from Burburija or Whittington but I do expect both of them to be better players than Moore and George

We can actually only know the end of the story of George, since he is transferring. As for Moore, judgement needs to be withheld on the kid. He wasn't a 0 tech in HS, he was more of a 3 - 5 player. Both Mississippi State and Nebraska decided he would be a great addition as a 0 tech. He has agility as demonstrated in HS, and has some moves, but translating that into a position he had never played was going to take more than ONE year of work. Unfortunately because Nebraska didn't plan for what to do when Polar Bear graduated, he didn't have any runway into playing that role. It also didn't help that Terry, who might have started if it weren't for his injury, was injured and out for the season.

Parrott no longer in the portal

I thought Moore had some health issues outside of injuries that are a challenge to deal with and then on the football side he is a walking injury. I don’t believe he is costing NU anything however it doesn’t seem smart money would bet on him contributing much. Hopefully he shakes the injury bug.

My hope is Raiola’s derailed Rhule’s year 2&3 and he gets back to forward progress in year 4. I’ve been impressed with the portal class and his qb choice. I’m pretty bullish on Nebraska football next year

I want to Rhulelieve but I need to see it first.

I'm holding onto my HES membership by a thread tho
