Just really started seeing bucks running does this past Saturday. Corn is slow coming out around here. Not a lot of quality bucks on the ground yet.

I've been out most weekends in IL. Saw some good action last weekend. Shot an 8 Sunday only to have my Rage hit a rib and sliced him down the side. He's now roaming around the woods with some guts hanging out. 2nd time I've seen that with the older Rage broadheads, so I won't be using those again. Finally great weather this weekend, so I am hopeful.

Told my 4 year old boy "I hit the dumbass deer because he was chasing tail".

Apparently he repeated that to his preschool class.

My last sit this morning before the orange army arrives this weekend. Chasing an absolute giant on public land just outside of Lincoln. Only seen him once in shooting hours.

This damn deer is whooping my ass this year.

*Update* - I pack up this morning to go home and work for a few hours - I pull my truck out and this big bastard is standing right on the damn road. Stares at me for a solid 30 seconds about 40 yards in front of me then takes off. 7 points on the left side, 6 on the right. Drop tine on the left. This fucker is taunting me

Proud member of the orange army. However have redeemed myself by becoming an archery addict. Not as excited about rifle nowadays since taking up bow hunting.
