I’ll wear it with honor.Who else should be in the sandy vagina crew? Probably @Gman1228
I added youI’ll wear it with honor.
Context is when it rains at nebraska it poursFeels like we're missing some context here. Is this just Michae'l cherry picking 14 teams, or is one side of that the worst, then the gap & Nebraska is top 10 in fewest in all of NCAA?
From my point of view, it's not even "innovation" that is needed. It's just not being a f-ing retard. You can't run the ball with more defenders than blockers. It's nearly impossible to diagnose coverages presnap without occasional motion. You can't ever get to the second level with the OL if you can't pick up defenders with H-backs or other lead blockers when the QB isn't a run threat. At least the offense would be innovative....
Yeah... Let me list all the offensive schemes and play calls that can regularly be successful when your WRs can neither block nor create separation on their routesFrom my point of view, it's not even "innovation" that is needed. This is pretty basic level offensive scheme philosophy. You have interesting personnel who can create conflict, such as Bonner. You can use him just like the 49'ers use Juszczyk. You have an elite TE as a blocker and pass catcher. You have average RBs, that need help to get the running game going. You have the personnel to center the offense around power run schemes with play action.
You know where perimeter blocking is less important, running power schemes. If you want to run outside zone and sweeps, you better be really good at perimeter blocking. I'm not saying that perimeter blocking isn't important with power running schemes, but you can get to the second level and take your chances with safeties a lot easier. The other thing power running schemes provide is susceptibility to play action, that will help with lack of individual ability to get separation. There are ways to scheme around edge deficiencies, and we are currently doing the opposite.Yeah... And that concludes the list
I foolishly envisioned a playaction passing game coming into this season due to those TE's.They pointed out during the game that we couldn't run out of a spread formation but did ok with everyone tight (presumably more TEs on the field)..
They hate the vertical passing game more than I hate JimI foolishly envisioned a playaction passing game coming into this season due to those TE's.
Fidone isn't dominant but even the most pedestrian of TE's can get open when you at least try to establish a running game. I thought between him and a hybrid TE like Nelson, there would be some open bombs to be caught.
