Is tick season worse this year than previously?

We've got ticks on the east coast giving lyme disease and now this lone star tick from down south coming up and giving people some kind of disease that prevents you from being able to eat red meat

i pulled 6 ticks off my dog last night and when i was at work today i found one of the little fuckers crawling on my arm

do ticks even serve an evolutionary purpose

i hate them so much
