Huskers.com removes all conference games from 2023 schedule

Honestly... if we have to be in a very weak division to have a chance to get to a conference championship... then we still suck anyway. Maybe not suck as much, but we should want to be better than squeaking in to a championship game via being in a weak bracket. JMO, and part of me does want to just GD win the West and get in a conference championship game, but if it is really only because we are in a bad division, it really doesn't mean much.
In the long run I agree with you, but I think the argument is that we're a team that desperately needs some kind of kickstart, making the Big Ten Championship game could propel us up a level in recruits' minds and just improve the program's fucked up psyche as well. Then you'd hope that would get the momentum going to become more than just the best of a weak division.

For a decade they already fucked us in the ass with the OSU scheduling, Neb 8, Wisky 5, & Cockeyes 2. Michigan is even at 6/5 a piece then Penn State(the one beatable team for us) is Cockeyes 8/Wisky 6/Nebraska 5 & before they were our protected crossover so once the new Big Ten West started, we ended up playing Pedo even less, 2 games to Cockeyes’s 6.
The way the B1G sees it they were doing everyone a favor by matching the highest ratings draw in the West with the highest ratings draw in the East. I'm sure that's what Fox wanted the B1G to do.

I'll never understand the demanding schedule crybaby shit. If NU were worth a shit since joining the B1G, it wouldn't matter. Hell, when we joined the B1G, the league was arguably down, and Pelini still couldn't do shit with that.

Remember when we got to play Wisconsin instead of Ohio State in the Championship b/c OSU was on probation? NU still got fucking boat raced.

And it's not like we've been a loss against tOSU away from accomplishing anything worth a shit. Yes, it sucks to lose to them every year. It also sucks to lose repeatedly to Illi-fucking-nois.

Michigan State athletic director Alan Haller vowed that changes are looming for the Big Ten Conference during a speaking engagement with the Detroit Economic Club on Monday at Motor City Casino, according to The Detroit News. Haller didn't disclose exact details of the hinted changes, though his comments come not long after the NCAA abolished the requirement for conferences with 12+ teams to house divisions in order to hold football championship games.

"There will be (changes),” Haller said at the event after being asked if realignment was being discussed, via The News. “We’re working through them.”

It matters when it comes to getting extra bowl practices to build the team.

Nebraska has nobody to blame but themselves but it’s also disingenuous to say that Nebraska hasn’t been screwed by Big 10 scheduling compared to its Wisconsin and Cockeye counterparts.

I agree that NU has drawn more of the "East" powers. And we all know that NU has drawn them b/c NU is arguably still the biggest draw in the West.

However, playing these "East Powers" is not preventing NU from getting to bowl eligibility. NU losing to Illinois, Minnesota, Troy, Purdue, Northwestern, Colorado, Indiana, and even Cockeye is what is preventing them from getting to a bowl game. NU has just as much and even more talent than these teams that are beating them. You only need 6 fucking wins to get to a bowl.

And let's not forget that NU actually turned down a bowl game in 2021.

Sure it matters
We can’t get where we want to be unless we have something to “sell” to better players, coaches, fans
Not hanging even a division title in over a decade when NW has 2 in the past 4 years will just seal our fate for another decade (maybe forever)
Once the fans give up
It’s over & it’s hanging by a thread now
We HAVE to win the division this yr
Otherwise our hopes of ever having any type of championship (which we’d all admit a division title isn’t currently that unattainable), is gone forever
Once everyone realizes there are no attainable championships left, the fanbase will lose interest ending it for good

I agree. Winning a weaker West division would still be a big jump for us. Long term though, I want us to be able to hang with the best in the league. May be a pipe dream, but dream big or continue to wallow in sucktitude. Gotta get past sucktitude first though... and winning the West would be a big step towards doing that. While there still is a West I guess.

And I don't have any faith NU will ever get a fair shake from the B1G in opponent scheduling. We haven't so far since we've been in the league. But that is a different matter. No divisions probably wouldn't help in this regard.
