Husker media member buring it all down

What was Jacob’s end goal with his rant is my question? Talking basketball more right now? Why? Because we’re in the Crown? I mean come on lol.

What the hell else is there to talk about? Force feeding college basketball talk in this market isn’t going to make Nebraska any better at it if that’s what he thinks. It’s the quickest way to tank any radio show in this great state.

I have to applaud him for going after the lazy old Nebraska media. They all suck

I wish the old Nebraska media guard was more straight up with us than sunshine pumping every off season, but that would mean them actually gauging talent that they see on the practice field which I don’t think a lot of them are very good at or even know what they’re seeing.

That being said, that doesn’t mean to just talk about something else instead. No one would read or listen.

I'm not going to out his @ but Jacob is here and contributes inside info when he has it so go easy on him haha
I appreciate his contributions but he may have just burned his bridges there. That was a very stupid and childish way to take a stand against the thing that pays his bills really. And he did it in a very smug, punchable way.

I don't get the Mitch Sherman hate. He's one of the few actual journalists on our scene and he comes across as a professional in most of the stuff I see from him. Even in his replies to this dude he was reasonable.

The rest of them though...fuck em lol

I can’t stand Severe and glad he went after him, but that 1620 interview was bad. Almost sounded like he was sabotaging himself. With that said I want him to continue to melt down

Of the ‘popular’ a holes who cover Nebraska, Severe is my least favorite.

I picture him only needing an audience of one, himself, sitting in front of a mirror in his bathroom doing his monologue.

That said, Bigelow did go full retard.

I see all the posts are deleted. Wonder if he still ‘works’ for Huskers Illustrated?

Dean had some thoughts on it:

I like how he called all the current main football media members "old grifters." I just could not imagine being a guy starting out, trying to make a name for myself, calling out all the current people doing this job as "old grifters."

I've never met Jacob. I'm not sure if that comment was directed towards us, or who it was directed to. We've worked very hard to get this point. We are a fully self-sustained business. He commented on shows spending too much time on football, we'll we see the numbers. We have to talk football if we want videos that do over 10,000 views. Even when we had Mark Manning on, which was a great interview, it was one of our lower shows at around 8,000 views. Nebraska basketball is just rarely something we can lead with on a show and expect big numbers vs. football. That's the reality of this market and what it is. I don't talk a big game on Twitter. I look at the raw data and numbers.

Again, I don't know Jacob and he's never said two words to me. I am just commenting on the "old grifter" portion, where he took a shot at all the football guys who have done the job for a long time.

Fair point on the views, but:

shocked at the well written piece by the Deanster

Think he's a dude who likes basketball the most out of the sports, atleast seems like it. I quite frankly do not care about basketball. I also don't take spring football all that seriously anymore. It's baseball season, but that also doesn't generate numbers and everyone knows that. He's on the Happer Show quite a bit and I do turn the channel whenever that conversation starts, mainly cause I do not care at all about basketball.

It's completely fine to like basketball the most and that be your passion to cover. But throwing a public tantrum that the market you're in doesn't prioritize the sport you like most is just dumb.
