I'm bored & when bored, do an NU football poll. How many of these guys are going to be on staff when fall camp kicks off in late summer 2025?

Foley - STs
Barthel - RBs
Satterfield - TEs

Who's OOU in 2025?

My wild guess:

Foley - will be moved to an admin/analyst role
Satterfield - might stay? We're on the hook for him for $1.4m in 2025, might as well get some work out of him
Barthel - I have NO idea if Holgorsen values him as a position coach. I'm eager to find out

I went with 1/3 with the 1 being Satterfield

Some fans really want to see these guys fired, I'm more ambivalent towards it. Really don't understand why folks are against Satterfield being TE coach.

I don't think there's really evidence that Barthel isn't good. Maybe we can bitch about Dowdell over EJ, but that's also what his boss wanted so idk

I think along these lines as well.

Can he really suck that bad when Rhule was going with what Satt wanted. I realize that's also a reflection of Rhule, but think he allows people to succeed or fail on their own.

Foley is not coaching ST next year. He'll be invited to stay on as an analyst or some dumb ass role, perhaps he rides off into the sunset hitting every greasy joint on his retirement adventure. His contract is up at the end of this month.

I can definitely see Satterfield will be back. I think Barthel is too.

Hard to judge Barthel when the entire offensive scheme was so bad
Didn't seem like there was an issue with fumbling which is a plus for him. Of course his RBs could have made more of some runs but down field WR blocking was bad until game 10. I don't know who croots who nowadays but Parker seemed like a really good land so feels like evidence is at least neutral for Barthel.

All 3 would be a LOT of staff changes. That'd be like a completely changed over staff. That would be 100% changeover from year 1 minus Dvoracek and Donnie. Crazy.
Both Barthel and Satt had wanted out before the year started, but Barthel is the one that might stick around if the right opportunity for him to leave doesn’t pop up.

Whoa...

So you're saying Satt wanted out before 2024 season? So the DH dance we did last winter could have happened if DH was ready? I had assumed that Satt didn't want to leave (not bc he likes it here, bc we pay him $1.4m to suck).

I did not know that Barthel wanted out

Satt’s family moved back before the year started and as I understand it he only intended to stay one more year regardless.

Barthel hasn’t really loved Lincoln either. I think he was close to leaving last year for some job but not sure what happened. You may recall a period where some rumors dropped about him and his Twitter had gone dark… then Cooper got axed which shifted the attention.
