I left DeBoer off of the list intentionally because he was playing Rob Riggle and beat Wisconsin fairly handily. I think the gumps begrudgingly give him one more year as long as they don’t meltdown in conference play. Which is very possible.

A lot of these decisions are dependent on who is available to hire. With Alabama’s standards that’s a very small pool of candidates.

Cockeye is a prime candidate for the CFB trash heap post Ferntz. Having both Wisconsin and Cockeye in a death spiral simultaneously all while the Huskers are on the rise back to dominance is almost too good to be true. Literal pinch me level of euphoria. We’ve seen crazier things.

All I’m saying is when you’re in a conference that has Ohio St, Penn State, Michigan, USC, and Oregon, your school getting one of those playoff bids seems slim.

Now, if you know you can get programs on the right path, running a team in the Big 12 doesn’t seem so bad.
