I think my HOA dues are something like $75 a year, no idea because I’ve never paid them. I’ve never gotten a bill or anything so I wouldn’t even know how to pay it. Think my wife may have tried to message them on Facebook but never got a response. No idea what they even do other than put on an annual fireworks show.

Lived here a little over 4 years. How fucked will I be if they ever figured out I’ve never paid.

In some cases HOAs are able to seize properties that haven’t paid dues. Would be a real kick in the Dick for $300 total 😂

If you don’t hear from them until you sell, if they’ve filed a lien or are due those funds, it will come out of your proceeds.

I'm the treasurer of our HOA. We need one since we're a community of townhome-style condos with common area, have a shared driveway, etc.

Thankfully we've got three stable, capable people running it. We try to keep dues low while making sure repairs and maintenance are kept up.

The amount of nut-job complaints and conspiracy theories, though, is hilarious. It's easy to see how an HOA could go off the rails quickly if the wrong people ended up with power.
