Help me: Round 3

Congrats. I've got 4 kids, 1st three were girls. The 3rd one is a wild child, independent as hell, and just turned 4 and acts like she's 14. I'm sure she's going to be a great teenager....Finally got a boy on the 4th try. Good Luck.

The third child IMO is a game changer, no more man to man defense, all zone. Shit's wild all the time.
Zone defense is absolutely no shit. 2 was plenty hectic but 3 seems like constant, never ending chaos in the house. I work 12 hour days when I need a break.

I've got 3, with a 4th on the way (girl, 2 boys, baby that we'll find out about in a few weeks).

3 wasn't crazy different from 2 for us - you'll probably naturally start doing shifts with your wife, just don't drift too far apart. Your older girl will also be big enough to start doing some legit helping. Minivans are awesome if you don't already have one.

And girls love their daddy, I'm kind of hoping for another one. You've got a good looking crew. Prayers for health!
Oldest girl is definitely a 2nd mom in the house. My wife told me that today, the youngest was in timeout - and to get out of timeout they have to tell us why they were in timeout, what they could do next time, and apologize - I guess my wife was busy and then heard the oldest so looked over and she was kneeling in front of the youngest saying “ok…why did you go in timeout? You can do better next time - I love you, ok? Now apologize for hitting”

Maybe I can be the third child, and our oldest can be the 2nd parent?

Didn’t Anotonio Cromartie have a few kids post snip?

You MD’s don’t always do a good job…

Three girls. Two of three out of the house. Definitely zonal defense situation. One great thing about girls is they love their dad.

Best advice I’ve got…

- Be patient
- Learn to listen, really listen
- Ask them how they feel about what they are telling you
- …and just keep listening
- Understand they don’t need or want you to solve all their problems
- And when they ask for your advice or help…give it
- Be present
- Let them know when you are proud of them…they know you love them, but they really want you to be proud of them.
- Remember the man you are is most likely what they will look for in their relationships…so act accordingly.

Was going to “69 Like” this - but it didn’t feel right…

I administered the wiener well enough for my wife and I to be expecting our 3rd child. 2 things needed from my boys at tPB:

1) Prayers that this one would, first, be another healthy one. And, second, that this one would be a boy. Not sure what 3 teenage daughters at the same time would be like…

2) any tips for becoming a father of 3 so I maintain as much sanity as possible? Fatherhood has been my favorite experience of my life - but a third sounds more difficult for some reason haha

EDIT: @Jim14510 is there a point at which I become tax exempt? How many kids do I need from a strictly monetary perspective?

1 child you can tag team
2 man 2 man
3 you are on the penalty kill

Our 3rd is wild and extremely sassy... I think it is because I am hard on the oldest, my wife is hard on the middle and we let the 3rd get away with murder.

The 3rd one always seems to be the one that makes my friends disappear from impromptu bar, hunting and fishing trips.

I just assume the 3rd one comes out with a pair of Mickey Mouse ears and a “Worlds Greatest Dad” mug to congratulate you on your new full time hobby. Congrats OP

Mainly kidding, kind of.

This is when we figured out we were in trouble with our 3rd. She’s 11 months here and just started walking.

First off, congratulations! Second off, I'll definitely pray for your baby to be healthy and for your wife's pregnancy to go well.

We've got 2 daughters and a son. Fatherhood is always different for sons and daughters. Even though you would think that it would be easier with a boy (shared interests, etc...) I have found it to be a little more difficult. I want to make sure that my son grows up to be a good MAN and sometimes trying to instill those lessons leads to a lot of headbutting. I remember how independent and stubborn I was as a teen and lord knows I have been rewarded with a son that is even more challenging than I think I was. That said, we've always lived by 1 mantra. I am your parent, not your friend, so if you don't hate me at least one time a week, I am probably not doing my job.

I had to laugh about the comment regarding being conscious of the type of man that you are around your daughters, as more than likely, that's what they'll look for in their longer term relationships. Our oldest will turn 20 in a couple of weeks and she's been dating a young man for about a year and a half. She'll sit there and complain about certain things that her boyfriend says/does (especially calling her out on her shit) and my wife will always tell her "You do realize that you're basically dating your father, right". Cracks me up every time, but also makes you feel a little good. I have always said that it's my job to make sure that my daughters see how they should be treated by any man they choose to be in a relationship based on how they see me treat their mom and that my son should see how he should treat any woman that he chooses to be in a relationship with based on how he sees me treat his mother.
