Help me not be a micro-manager....

I manage a sales team that sells digital banking to banks all over the country......about ten % of the banks in this country use our products.

I share that to give you context that I know we are busy guys and gals....I was on a demo with one of my guys and he shared his screen. I see he has 25,000 unread fugging emails in his inbox. I am like WTF....HTF do you know what's what....

Should I say something? He made he quota BTW...

Honestly this is just proportional to how often he gives out his email and for what purposes. For example I use my gmail for absolutely everything NOT work related and I get hundreds of emails a week. I never read them it’s just garbage. It takes one cursory view of the subject line and sender to know if it’s worth opening or not. You absolutely shouldn’t look into this too much. Sincerely, a guy with 59,722 “unread emails”

My last job I would get a ton of auto-generated emails from various systems/vendors (salesforce notifications, etc) that were useless and I would never open. I had them all routed to a different inbox, probably had around the same amount in there by the time I left but you couldn’t tell since they weren’t in my main inbox.

How is that possible? Has to be some missed opportunities there. I know a guy that sandbagged every month and held out to just hit his quota. Worked about 2 days a month.
