Have we considered getting rid of the men's basketball team and replacing it with a men's hockey team?

Given the possibility that the men's basketball team will never win an NCAA tournament game, have we considered scrapping the basketball program altogether and replacing with a men's hockey team?

The hockey team would pry win a postseason game before the basketball team will win one.

Getting rid of football and focusing solely on hockey, volleyball, and basketball seems like the smartest move. Memorial Stadium is outdated and falling apart—tearing it down instead of pouring money into renovations could save NU a fortune. With Pinnacle Bank Arena perfectly suited for both hockey and basketball, the transition makes sense. Football’s glory days are long gone—NU is essentially the Minnesota of the 1930s.
