What really happened down the stretch?

Clearly the competition was better but we clearly quit caring.

Bullied by Minnesota, Penn State, Cockeye and Utah.

We were listless with no noticeable edge or fire. Didn’t seem to care at all, especially defensively.

I know some of this stuff was in the nuggz, but how bad was it really? Clearly there was cancer that needed to be cut out. But, is that all gone? (Butler, Raiola, Raiola, Raiola, etc?) Or what/who is left to get cut out?

I’ve heard on good authority and I don’t believe it was ever posted here but our OC has become reclusive and separated with some other things going on).

Did Rhule et al lose just this team or have they lost it all together?

I guess the portal will tell right?

There is no 'one' issue that caused this season to fall off the rails.

Definitely a list though:
-Dylan Raiola can be a good quarterback, but probably not the right quarterback for the system we need. Didn't help that he wasn't a great leader. Its like he acted like a leader as opposed to stepping up when need be.
-Unproven DC. He had experience as a good DB coach, but let's face it, the B1G is primarily all run game and stopping the run.
-Unproven DL coach. Came from recommendations, right? Well, probably not the best timing when you have a DC who hasn't really worked with DL before.
-Offensive Line. Between the no proven depth and a OL coach who looked to struggle to develop the depth, especially at the OT position, this really hurt any QB we had back there.

Really it comes down to Rhule being wrong at almost every hire.

Don’t put too much stock into a meaningless bowl game.

I don’t think Dana is the answer. He can be our OC for the first two series, but then we desperately need someone for the final 8-10 series. He will end up moving on after next year and then Rhule will do what he should have done the first time: hire an elite up and comer OC.
