Golf Thread

I keep waiting for Portrush to show some teeth, but it’s been bleh. I hate the open when these dudes can just throw darts. I wish they were all like Carnoustie
Nae wind, nae golf. Hopefully it blows a bit over the weekend.

And Portrush is maybe the most aerial of the rota courses. Off the tee is very interesting, but approach shots aren’t linksy. All carry. Very little ground game. The greens are much more undulating, so there are some fun recoveries, but the iron shots are more similar to a typical pga event.

Anyone try out the super stroke REVL grips for their irons? Thinking about giving them a try. My irons are way past due.

Maybe I should start a new thread but I'm lazy.

Long story short I have a building purchased with other property that I need to do something with. Some limitations on what I can do with the building due to parking issues. Have about 15 parking spots now. Could add a parking lot with about 40-50 spots if needed but could also build something else in that property if I can avoid making it a parking lot.

Best idea we've come up with is to do a stand alone golf simulators.

Biggest concern is it seems like most of these are as an add on i.e. golf clubhouse, tactical 88, etc. This will be just the simulators and nothing else. You can bring in your own food/drinks but we won't be providing.

I don't know shit about simulators so recommendations on that would be outstanding. Currently thinking one area will be a fairly high end one and would initially add one middle of the road one. Could add at least 3 maybe 4 more down the road if it's working.

It's one big open room. High ceilings so preferably would not build walls between them. Maybe a curtain to pull if you don't want other groups watching? Do I even need that?

Will not have anyone there. Will have multiple cameras and have to have a membership in order to play there. With your membership you get a key fab to get in.

What does your insurer think about not having anyone on site in a situation like that? Genuinely curious seems like a recipe for disaster especially if you allow BYOB.

There are a few of these places in Omaha. Maybe check them out and see how they do it

My buddy invested in one of these in Omaha. Said it did ok.

@Jim14510, where is the site at? My first thought is that cold weather places would kill it in the winter, but I live in Dallas and there's one near my house and I think it does pretty well.

It's in the Omaha area. Yeah I have a feeling its going to get done about April when everyone goes back outside.

Here’s a concept for you. Basically a country club vibe to an indoor simulator
