Alex Bullocks and IGC are in the two deep. If the WR room is really that bad we need to bring in more transfers. Good riddance McGuire.

For all the fretting about all our defensive portal exits, our starting D is largely intact. I feel good about this game.

Brix at guard is interesting.

I think the defense actually looks better. I always thought cam Lendhert should start this year after the way he played last year.

I finally got around to watching Coach Butler's zoom press conference and I came away impressed. He was in the running to be the Buffalo Bills DC!! For god sakes! Now he isn't good enough to the DC of Nebraska? Everybody hating needs to chill!! He wasn't the one telling his to play soft on pass coverage. That was ex DC TW.

Looks like BC has had around 10 guys enter so far. Don’t know if they’re impact players

No. But it's partly due to an older team. BC will graduate about 15 starters after this game.

They are very much on par with Northwestern from a talent standpoint. But they"re more athletic on the DLine.

A lot of angry fans for a couple of reasons:

1. Many just wanted a major splash hire. They wanted Nebraska to poach the Broyles Award winner. Nothing wrong with thinking big, but also have to be realistic.

2. Too many fans blamed Butler for the struggles of the DBs despite some obvious reasons. Nebraska faced 9 offenses in 2023 that could barely muster the forward pass. The opposition improved a lot in that regard for 2024. Tommi Hill injury was killer. Blye Hill injury really strunted hits development. And I think too many people believed Gifford was better than he is. On the flipside, nobody gave him credit for Ceyair Wright really play improving.

I'll be the first to admit with how wrong I was on Gifford. I thought he was going to be All Big Ten....

Same. I was yuuuuge Giff fan

He's decent in run support vs one dimensional offenses. And that allowed him to have a pretty good season in 2023.

But he gets exploited in coverage and he's not athletic enough to overcome poor reads vs balanced offenses.

I guarantee Bill O'Brien is going to pick on him a bunch.
