You're ruining my enjoyment of this, Jim. You sound like Scott's AA sponsor. Now is the time we laugh at Scott. You're approaching this like the Zapruder film. Just let us enjoy it.

Again, if the story was true, I don't think CMC's beef would be with Frost, it would be with the entire Oregon staff (Frost just got caught talking about it). If you're Luke and you have zero QB offers outside of Nebraska's, you'd probably take the QB offer. The guy was maniacal about wanting to play QB. He had no other options to go to. Verduzco IIRC was unflinching in his belief that Luke could be a good college QB, so Luke probably felt he had an advocate at QB coach at the very least.
I fully believe Scott said something that screwed up him going to Oregon. Maybe the details are just a little off as the story moved through people.

Maybe the person recruiting him before Frost concentrated more on the RB aspect of their hybrid position and Frost screwed it up by focusing more on the receiver side of it.

Which is close enough to the same story.

It's a bye week folks so sue me

Sorry if this was posted elsewhere. But this is 1000% believable. Only Frost would talk shit about an incoming 4* recruit WHILE the recruit was on his visit to your school.

**BTW, yes I know that all CFB coaches lie to HS recruits to get them to commit. But 99% can hold off on verbalizing the lie until at least the fuckin official visit is over. Hell, the visits are only 24 hrs, you should be able to make it that long & keep your mouth shut. But not Frost.

Off topic but I just looked through Mikey Daniel’s Twitter and saw this. Anyone know why Todd Gurley was at the Illinois game?

Yeah and just to clarify: there's zero % chance this story happened exactly as they described. Just the odds of a person walking by a door at the exact second the meeting inside is talking about you is like 0.01%.

But to your point, I absolutely can believe that Frost fucked this up somehow in how he described CMC's role to him and that cost Oregon his recruitment. Frost has the emotional intelligence of a stepladder. Maybe they wanted him in the slot more than they were letting on etc and Frost let the cat out of the bag, who knows. I just know that if a single UO coach fucked it up the odds are about -850 it was Frost.

Oregon just had DeAnthony Thomas, if there is a shred of truth to this story I don't think that Frost thinking that high school McCaffrey was more suited for that role is some sort of knock on him.

We should use this a crootin pitch every single time about how Nebraska sets you up for life even if you are mid
It would be very similar to Oregon's pitch on how they'll set you up with a corporate job at Nike after your playing career ends. It's just that instead of making a 6-figure salary at a Fortune 100 world HQ, you're working for free at a local sports radio channel in Lincoln. They're pretty much the same thing. Plus, NU will throw in a bean burrito value meal at Muchachos.

Tood Gurley will forever be known to me as Tudd Gurley b/c of tMB.

Plus in 2017, my fantasy football team just ran roughshed on the whole year...solely from my RB production.
I had the Tudd, Leveon Bell, and Alvin Kamara.

Not sure I buy that Nike is actually giving dozens of semi-literate Oregon grads 6 figure jobs every year. Especially as they've had rounds of layoffs, and their HQ employee count has gone steadily down for the past few years.

Maybe it's a vague idea they throw out there to entice 17 year olds who think it must be cool because it has the swoosh.

You clearly aren't an influencer who would cash in on that free fame. I bet you're not even highly leveraged in crypto, nerd

I ate at Muchachos once. Not impressed.
