Frost being Frost

Schick and Childers had a ~30 min segment on Frost today. It’s on the Sirius app if you have it but this story from Frost’s last B1G media day is telling of the type of leader/representative this guy was. Speaker 1 is Childers and Speaker 3 is Schick.
I try not to be one to overreact, but with hindsight as my helper, things like what you posted or the Twitter post below really shed light on some of these things. His wife was basically over it and I'm not sure she even still lived around here at this point, I know she was done with the job she had while living in Lincoln and had already quit that. His QB he hand-picked left him and headed to Kansas State, he was on his 3rd offensive coordinator going into his 5th season. He was just over it and not in a great spot. Even Davison started separating himself a little bit IMO because he knew if he went down with the ship the Nebraska stuff may be over for him.

not to curb the convo of Scott, but his wife was a real beaut

Not related to his coaching, but my experience with him when he was still playing for the Jets and would come back to the Univeristy to workout and play hoops.

One particular night he was playing pickup and wearing his Jets t-shirt. I had just finished a season of college ball and was debating whether I wanted to keep playing in college, I was not a student at NU at the time. I'm a 5' 7" white PG who no one really knew up there. I got on the court as a last option for a group and they were playing his team. Naturally, they put their worst player on me because of how I look. First posession I get a steal off of Scott and went down and dunked it. That pissed him off and he decided he was going to guard me. He tried getting really physical with me, I proceeded to score every point on him to win the game. All he did after the game was talk shit to me telling me that I was lucky and he would stop me next time he got on the court. I didn't say a word, played one more game and walked out. He was furious that I didn't stay so he could get his chance to stop me after I embarassed him.

I tell that story to say that I had serious doubts before we hired him that he could handle it. He was so mentally weak when things didn't go as he expected them to. Glad he's gone and it wouldn't hurt my feelings to never hear from or about him again.

Is that not common? I'm from Georgia, and have never taken mine out since I started back in 3rd grade.
I know you're half joking and this was at B1G media days and not at the practice facility, but another thing that rubbed a lot of higher-ups on campus wrong was that he kept his dip in during interviews and other places where people could see him and UNL has been a tobacco-free campus since he was there. I think it was literally put in place his first week or two.

Possibly petty, but just thought I'd add some color to your question.

Newcombe was unreal before his knee injury. I have no issues with Bobby starting over Eric at that point.
Solich also had Newcombe running the ball in garbage time, then continued playing him with the injury long after it was clear he wasn't right

The revisionist history of Solich's tenure is wild to me. The dude was a shitty head coach and offensive coordinator
