Frost as OC at Miami???

I can’t wait for the third documentary in the Cocaine Cowboy’s series.
Something cocaine related was my first thought.

He looked like a good play caller when he had Mariota and Milton at their peaks.

His strategy at Nebraska of repeatedly throwing horizontal passes to the sidelines for no gain, while running a hurry up offense that couldn’t get a first down, seemed less genius.
What seemed to kill us is we were never able to get a dependable, effective run game going. I don't think you would ever see Lincoln Riley sputter the way our offense did here. Maybe Cristobal's thought is his OL coach can moderate that, but they were pretty bad on offense this year.

It's kind of crazy because we finished in the top 5 in the conference in total offense every year under Frost. 2nd in 18 and 21, 4th in 19, 5th in 20. First in the Big Ten West every year except 19. And yet outside of that first year it always felt like the offense was holding us back. Just seemed like red zone efficiency and turnovers killed us, and like you said we never had a dependable running game to take some of the pressure of AM.

Part of why we were high up in total offense is that we played a lot of close games or games where we were playing from behind. We were only ranked in the top 25 of yards per play once in the Frost tenure (at 25), and we were always really shitty in points per drive.

Yeah. Offense always played better when our backs were against the wall and it was rarely enough. We ran a lot of plays that probably drove YPP down and points per drive shows how bad we were in the red zone.
