I’ve been thinking about our openers the last couple seasons.
Am I remembering things incorrectly or did we have really good blitzes dialed up in both games?
I know both games I seem to remember something like 7 sacks against CU in 2018, and several against South Alabama last year. Last year at least a few came from the secondary with strip sacks from Lamar and Taylor-Britt.
For whatever reason, it seems we can’t sustain anything resembling a pass rush after the first game the last couple years, but I’m hoping we see some of the same aggressive blitzes in our opener this year as the last two years.
