Is that why they would never name a #1 RB? Money? If so college sports are truly dead. It never occurred to me that there were those kinds of games being played with NIL. Shows how fucking naive I still am. It's actually pretty disgusting the more I think about it. So a coachs' hands are tied when it comes to playing time when a player emerges over a higher paid player? "Well shit we think player X is playing better than player Y but if we play player X more we have to pay him more $$$" I'm guessing this is why the WR rotation was pretty much non existent too. RIde or die with the guys making the most money. And we pretty much died with Neyor.

Is this why special teams suck donkey balls? We'd have to pay players more if they played on ST's too?

I’m curious about something. When a player like EJ tells coaches they are entering the portal, is there an attempt to change their mind? Is more NIL offered? Or do coaches play a longer game and see who might pop up in the portal?

The portal is going through be pretty crowded this year. I can see playing the wait and see game. I also think a lot of players entering the portal could end up wanting back with their original team.

Deals are made a year in advance for returning players. Who said NU isn't going to pay him more?

FFS, I said it's not over. As of my response, he hadn't met with anyone in Lincoln yet. Meetings are (were) scheduled for late this week in to next week.

He didn’t imply, you inferred. Big difference. So big in fact that you completely inverted cause and effect. It’s not that he had to be a backup because of his pay. He was getting paid like a backup because he was a backup.
