Very cool article written by Emmett himself. I had no idea about his story and the journey to get to Lincoln.

Quick story: after the game last week Rhule sent the players out to thank the fans and Emmett was the last one out. My son had the Sharpie and hat ready for him to sign but Emmett got called back to the locker room but promised my son he would find him.

We went to the locker room exit with a couple hundred other fans and Emmett found my son and signed his hat. I don’t think Emmett knew he made a fan for life in my son but he sure did.

I’ll be rooting the hell for the kid going forward.

This is awesome, this dude and his family are the embodiment of the old-school American Dream, and I love that NU gets to be a part of it all for them. And OP, your story just justifies why Johnson is such a great guy to root for. Thanks for sharing!
