Breaking Dylan Raiola Heisman Watch

He will need to pad his numbers somewhat in the next four games as well as against UCLA. That should keep him in the running.

Heisman QBs in recent years usually post:

  • 3,500–4,500 passing yards
  • 30–40+ TDs
  • Few interceptions
  • Some rushing value (often 300+ rushing yards and a few TDs, but not always — e.g., Caleb Williams had mobility but wasn’t a true runner).
Raiola’s projection right now:
  • ~3,400–3,600 yards
  • ~32–36 TDs
  • ~3–5 INT

Dylan would have to put up ungodly burrow-esque passing numbers to ever have a chance. Broken play QB scrambles are like jingling keys to heisman voters.
Penn State is an absolute must win for him to get the heisman. He's on track in the sense that's he's had 4 very good games and even the performance in the L won't hurt him, but he'd need to keep that up and have a legit heisman moment in a game that matters a lot

Our team has to go 10-2 or 11-1 for him to have a chance.

Our defense has to quit being so "leaky" to even get him into the conversation.

Ari needs to back himself out of the Raiola thing. Most of the online vitriol was about Tom Fornelli, not him.
