Title. Would love to see the votes here as I think there are still a few out there who think TJ is the better option than a healthy Dylan. Time to make it known before these last four games. We should get a better idea either way.

I am a big Raiola supporter. I think we would've won on Saturday if he didn't get hurt. He is undoubtedly our best option.

With that being said, it's refreshing to have a more mobile QB, especially with a bad line. Sometimes it's maddening watching (essentially) a statue. Unfortunately, that will likely lead to more interceptions and fumbles.

Probably just a personal preference thing.

I hope Lateef throws for 500 yards & runs for another 200 & has us all arguing about what Dylan would have done against the UCLA defense & whether there's a QB controversy going into 2026.

But I think we're going to ugly up the game, rely on EJ, find some spots to give TJ the chance to use his legs, and he'll be a mix of good stuff & true frosh stuff.

My goal for Lateef is:

1 - remove the careless ball handling. He had a fumble and a fumbled snap. If you can remove all that for a 60 min game we can beat UCLA.

2 - overall TOs. If he could somehow keep it to just 1 vs UCLA I think we can win. He'll fumble or throw a pick for sure. If he could keep it to 1 TO overall that would be huge.

3 - find the right mix of running plays, QB run plays and pass plays. I don't think Lateef is built to do 12 running plays/game. I think you're gonna have to pick your spots. I'm not counting the coverage breakdown scrambles either & he'll probably do 4 of those

Obviously there is no evidence to answer yes to this question, I don't think Lateef will suddenly be outperforming Raiola as a QB, BUT.... the optimistic part of me does wonder if this could be similar to the 2007 Ganz Effect, meaning, MAYBE the offense was a little handicapped by a failure of imagination, trying to play to the specific skillset of our franchise QB rather than just playing loose and letting it rip and using all the weapons in more creative ways.

Obviously Raiola and Keller are not nearly the same type of person and I'm hoping Raiola comes back refreshed and with his hair on fire this offseason, but there's a little bit of similarity where they were supposed to lead a high flying passing attack that has just never looked quite right. So again, this is just my optimistic side trying to come through, but maybe Lateef comes in and, knowing they can't just put the ball in his hands and expect him to execute like a pro the way they do with Raiola, maybe Dana and co will kinda be forced to try other things we've kept on the back burner for whatever reason so far. Especially since Lateef has the better scrambling abilities and can maybe improvise and take off which can soften up the defense.
