Good rule of thumb: if you have a hard time spelling your OL recruit's last name, then you probably have a good one.

I thought it over and I can't think of a time that this doesn't apply. I would extend it to first names for young men of African-American descent

Given we need some guys that can play right away at a few spots, I’m surprised we aren’t more active in the portal. Our actions the last couple days essentially suggest winning in 2024 is not the highest priority. Rhule really is gonna make Husker fans be patient with this build, isn’t he?

First, Rhule is building for the long term. He won't mortgage the program's future for a quick fix just because some fans are impatient.

Second, maybe Tony White feels comfortable with the guys they've got, especially after they get another off-season under their belts.

Third, just because they're bringing in high school players doesn't mean they aren't talking to guys from the portal. You can do both.

Fourth, plenty more players will hit the portal after spring ball. There's plenty of time to fill holes on the roster, and coaches will better understand what players will contribute.
