For those who don't have an RSS sub anymore, Dean's "1" prediction was that Cam Jurgen's has a tough decision in December after the season whether or not to stay for another year. Said a lot depends on who the O-Line coach is, so Frost better step up there. I, for one, think that would be a nightmare if Cam left. Cam is literally the only solid, healthy, OLineman we have right now. Teddy being the other.

I know this has been mixed reviews, but now bringing this back up, aggravates me again that we didn't find a way to take Isaac Zatechka. I understand what his offers were, but knowing what we know about the OLine today, I don't think anyone can say there's anyone on the roster who they think would be immediately better than Isaac now with a year, possibly 2 in the program if Cam stays another year. This one I'll 100% put on Frost and Greg Austin as a pure miss. JMO.

I was told early in the year that if he had a good year and we were bad, he’d go pro. Obviously things could change from then till now
He's had several interviews and asked about the position switch. Frost apparently asked him, "what does playing for Nebraska mean to you?" I'll guess we'll find out what that answer actually is here in about a month and a half.

Is Isaac playing for Missouri now or something? I.e, is there any evidence that he should have been offered or is going to end up being a Power 5 starter? Bc the last time a Nebraska offensive lineman got hyped up like crazy by a bunch of RSS posters before eventually getting offered we ended up with Chris Walker who’s spent four years in the program doing nothing.

Name me an OLineman on the roster right now ready to efficiently replace Cam Jurgens at Center? That wouldn't be a significant drop off. Yeah he signed with Missouri.

I'm not hyping anyone up. The fact that our backup center is Trent Hixson is horrifying. Zatechka is a legacy center. You take that chance and hope he develops. That's all.

Your idea of a "solid, healthy O-lineman" is a guy who had a season-ending injury? Teddy's been out since the Michigan game. 👀
Sorry, no, he's just the other solid lineman that we know we have for sure right now. For sure not healthy.

Did we ever find out what Turner's injury was, or if he ever really recovered from it? He was expected to be the other solid guy on the line, until he got injured late in fall camp.

There’s probably a 2 in 3 chance we don’t have Cam next year
1) he goes pro
2) he does something dumb in the off season like wrestle a steer & water ski 2 feet from shore or something else & suffers a season ending injury
3) he’s back

He does so. much risky Stuff in the off season, it’s always 50/50 he doesn’t hurt himself

I remember @alt f4 and @Faux Sean Callahan saying a few weeks back that he does have a solid chance to get drafted if he declared this year. Obviously even better grade if he stayed one more year and improved.
I'm guessing he'd put up freaky numbers at the combine/pro day and he'd garner enough attention to get a shot.

He would have to test amazing cuz lord knows he has like maybe 1 year total worth of good film.

I just checked 3 of the big mock draft sites and only 1 of them has him ranked. (as the 25th ranked C/G, the other sites had top 10 Centers and he wasn’t on either) I’d have to look and see if the 25th C/G got drafted last year. Doesn’t sound great if he isn’t a top 10 Center and is #25 for C/G combined.

**update** checked the 2021 draft

7 Centers drafted
14 Guards drafted

PS: any guesses on how many times has he snapped the ball with QB under Center in a game? Serious question.

Dean did say someone told him he'd be Top 5 Centers this year on the board after the season is over. Atleast that's how I read it on RSS.
