I was having lunch at Gate 25 (not code for anything I promise) the day they called off the state basketball tournament in 2020 and I ran into him while he was covering a baseball game. I told him I was a scroller and he acted really weird. Almost intimidated. Really passive. Kind of a weird exchange. You’d think a dude who’s run a site like his for years would chop it up with a customer a little bit and it’s not like if I told him what my handle was he would only recognize me as a lurker.
That's interesting. Do you recall if he even seemed gracious or said thank you?
I've never really had (nor have) a bone to pick, but he does make me SMH. I view the board as entertainment vs. looking at my $10/month as a non-value. That's why RSS is successful, due to scrolling and interaction. Husker football banter and best BBQ sauce, etc. is a hobby, so I don't take it overly serious. There are multiple outlets that provide free info. Then there's TPB.
They also have the appearance of being lazy, but that's a "them" problem they'll need to address if they want to stay relevant. I still get enjoyment out of the banter on both TPB and RSS. Guess I'm not as angry or anal as some that get wound up about 1st world problems.
