I was wondering why it came in at a paltry 86 posts before realizing that neither of them ever answered a question despite being mentioned in the introduction by Callahan. I guess the transition isn't quite over yet--those guys aren't used to fielding questions in the chat. Frankly, I'm with @jw3 in hoping for as much Mongo involvement as possible, so let's hope they get on board for the next one.

Does that board get any useful recruiting info anymore that isn't 2nd hand? & are Mongo/Matya plugged into that type of info?

I'm actually not THAT into recruiting anymore because it seems like some never make it to campus & many that are supposed to contribute never do, even ones that do contribute end up transferring for one reason or the other.... it does no good to get excited over prospects that might be good at football some day & may or may not still be on the team after a year or two.

I'm really not into recruiting either. I mean, i fully recognize its importance, but until we can get the majority of our high profile kids to stick around for more than a year or so, it doesn't really matter.

Is it really worth getting excited about when a high school kid committed anymore? I’d be shocked if the transfer numbers don’t start to get to 40-50% soon.

The only difference between the chat this week, and the chat of the past few years was there wasn't a full extra page of Nate Clouse saying "we'll have to see how it plays out." If Dean doesn't get a real recruiting expert on that site soon, he is going to feel it in the shorts. And I'm not talking about when he sees Frost without his shirt on...

If he was smart he’d pull out every stop to hire Schaefer. It would boost his product tenfold and cripple his competition.
