Sounds like we are playing Cincinnati in KC next year

Anyhow this guy posted this and it brings back memories. I was 11 and couldn’t understand what was going on and why we weren’t winning by 50

Oh have times have changed

I get the location is more convenient. But there are much better options if they want it to be neutral site.

I thought the game with Cincy next year was in Indy?

There are. But it is Cinicinatti's home game and they don't want just any neutral site. They want a neutral site close to Nebraska so the game attracts a lot of Nebraska fans so they make more money.

I was at that NU vs Okie State game. That was a cold sonofabitch. Incredible finish.

I was at that game as well, in that endzone where the goal line stand happened. I remember the traffic being so horrible for that game coming from Lincoln. They had some road construction going on and had no idea how well Nebraska fans travelled. There ended up being a traffic jam where traffic on the interstate heading into KC literally became a parking lot. Guys were out of their vehicles throwing footballs in the median and pissing off the side of the road. Girls were walking up and down the interstate looking for people with RV's asking if they could go to the bathroom in their RV's. Some people kept their engines running and ran out of gas, and some folks just pulled their cars into the grass median, parked, and walked the remaining mile or two to the stadium. I had never seen anything like that before and I'm pretty sure I never will again.

I've told this story a few times on HOL, but my earliest, full memory is the 01 season. We watched the natty at my aunt and uncle's house. Obviously what happened, happened. I remember very vividly on the way home, staring out the window of our 1995 Chevy Suburban, thinking to myself, "it's fine, we'll be back next year. We're Nebraska". We never went back, and we still haven't won a conference title since that night. Sobering

I would have been about 9 at the time

I was in that same end zone

My doulblethink it really kicking in really hard right now. I am simultaneously

1) Very low on 2024 Nebraska and think there is a good chance we go 0-2 and finish 5-7

2) I am peaking at the 2025 schedule. With a game in KC, that's basically 8 home games and the rest of the schedule is looking really reasonable. The order will effect things, but road schedule is

'Neutral' vs Cinncy

Thats a pretty favorable Big Ten schedule all things considered.

In conclusion, I have a mental illness.

The traffic did suck that night, but Nebraska fans have always been poor planners when it comes to traffic. Ha.

Lol... What do you mean?

Do you think they can just call up the Rose Bowl and request that venue? Maybe give Jerry Jones a call? The venue has to be on board as well.

Yeah, if they wanted a 'neutral' site game that would benefit their fanbase and make money, they would play where the Bengals play. But they are a poor school and need money, so they are more or less gifting this game to Nebraska fans at KC.

Just saying arrowhead about be in the bottom 1/3rd of desirable places for nfl stadiums. Indy’s stadium was a better option.
But nfl stadiums and the cities that own them have shown they aren’t against making money and hosting CFB games early in the year

I bet they could get Minneapolis to agree.

But really get it in a recruiting hot bed or else just travel to Cincinnati
