Chicago Bears interviewing ISU's Campbell

I was gonna say 'don't these young looking first time NFL HCs usually get run over?'

But then I remembered Sean McVay. And Mike McDaniel. But they were not coming from college gigs IIRC.

Bears are at 16 requests for interviews I believe. All are zoom at this point. NFL has rules of no in person interviews until after division round for coaches on other NFL staffs. This obviously wouldn’t apply to Campbell but I’ve read they did the same for Vrabel. If I had to guess Campbell has a good agent here getting his name out after a solid Cockeye St year

I have no confidence that Ryan Poles will hire a good coach. If wanting to get McCarthy and now Campbell are targets, then there's no chance the Bears actually get a coach that will get the most out of Caleb Williams. My hope is that this is just due diligence prior to hiring Ben Johnson.

Step 1: Think about good coaches that could be hired

Step 2: Watch the FO trip over their dicks and eventually hire Coach Bro

Step 3: Say something like "He will probably have an ok offense" with no conviction.

I read an article where Poles stated they were going to cast a wide net and talk to people no one would think of in both pro and college. I'm hoping this is just checking that box.
