Same rumors that Yao Ming rounded down quite a few inches. A friend of mine is a big dawg in the Celebrity Security World, mainly Musicians but some actors & dignitaries. He is 6-3 but tiny compared to many of the Basketball players like Yao & Shaq. He has a picture standing with Yao and another picture with Shaq. Shaq looks about 8 inches taller than him and Yao about a foot & a half taller. He swears Yao is easily 8-10 inches taller than Shaq not 4-5 inches. He thinks Yao is closer to 7-10 instead of the listed 7-5 or 7-6. he also laughs about how large Yao's head is.

He was the Body Guard for Gwen Stefani for the VMA's (Video Music Awards). He had to carry her up the stairs to the stage because her dress wouldn't allow her knees to bend enough. He was seated next to her and Shaq was sitting in the seat in front of him. Said he couldn't see shit because it was like a Billboard was in front of him. Just stared at the back of Shaq's suit all night

Yeah. Nba players rounding down around 7 feet is a strange phenomenon. Lots of dude at 7'1" who claim to be 6'11" and then you've got dudes like Yao and Wembanyama who round down to try to avoid the injury prone label

My mistake, just figured with the kid looking just like Manute, having the last name Bol and being from the KC area it was one of his like 9 kids. Maybe a nephew or grandkid?

As pointed out elsewhere, Bol is a very common Sudanese name. And it doesn't take much for a tall, skinny Sudanese kids to "look like" Manute.

Haha, kinda ironic. She wasn't a fan of me. I wouldn't let her into a New Years Eve Concert when she was under age. She was with Brittany Spears, Justin Timberlake & Lance Bass. Lance was the only one who was 21 and they wanted to drink. I would have gotten in trouble so it didn't work out. My buddy actually almost worked for Christina as security, and he's glad he didn't. Although if I remember correctly she did hook up with one of her body guards for a while.
I did have a buddy who worked as a Body Guard that ended up dating Victoria Secret Model Adriana Lima. Joe was a TE in college I think for Northern Illinois or one of those directional Illinois colleges and later did some MMA fighting. He ended up dating Adriana for a while.
