Welcome to The Platinum Board. We are a Nebraska Husker news source and fan community.
Sign Up Now!I’m not sure about WisconsinI have to imagine schools like Purdue, Illinois etc and even the Cockeyes’s & Minnesota’s are absolutely terrified of NIL right now.
I could see head fart sniffer Barry Alvarez swoopin in to try to level the playing field in regards to NIL against Nebraska with how much of an advantage NU has compared to other schools in the West.
I mean if there's one thing Nebraska has proven to be good at, it's finding a way to flush a lot of money down the drain on poorly coached 3-5 win teams.I was told by some people on this message board that Nebraska is giving $0.00 per year and has no idea what they are doing but this article using facts and sources says we are 2nd in the conference.
(As does all the top tier transfers we got)
But anyhoo, you bois can continue on thinking Frost wouldn’t even be qualified to coach Raymond Central

The Nebraska athletic department might be worse at spending than the feds. The federal government and UNL know how to spend money wisely.

AllegedlyI thought NIL had nothing to do with the schools themselves and were all private entities giving money to athletes?
Allegedly
I’ve read Michigan State, Minnesota, Illinois, Kansas State, Kansas, Northwestern, and Cockeye, will put together 1.5-5mil every year, no idea where that ranks us & im skeptical if MSU can’t do more with their 2 billionaires. Also that Cockeye is on the low-end so I’m guessing they’re operating in the 2mil range.I have to imagine schools like Purdue, Illinois etc and even the Cockeyes’s & Minnesota’s are absolutely terrified of NIL right now.

What schools are actually throwing money at players at this point? We know Nebraska and OSU are.
I'd expect big things from Ohio St, Penn St, Michigan and Mich St as their fanbase supports them quite well plus they have wealthy boosters. It wouldn't surprise me to see Maryland, Northwestern & Wisconsin step up either because they have some deep pocketed boosters. It appears like Ferentz just wants to ignore NIL much like in the past when they wouldn't recruit during the season. Ferentz has some success on the field but it seems like the game has passed him up. I bet he yells at kids to get off of his lawn.I’ve read Michigan State, Minnesota, Illinois, Kansas State, Kansas, Northwestern, and Cockeyes, will put together 1.5-5mil every year, no idea where that ranks us & im skeptical if MSU can’t do more with their 2 billionaires. What are the other Big 10 teams doing NIL wise

Thanks Gerrod for the updateI’ve been of the opinion that you can’t be too high on NIL and you can’t be too low on it either. We simply don’t/didn’t know.
But… I was also told that Texas was doing NIL right.
We had a need for a pass rusher and we went out and threw the checkbook at the problem and out-bid Texas. This is a big deal for several reasons.
I think we have to admit that our NIL is a bit better than some thought.
It’s a joke but we have paid off multiple ADs and coaches after firing Solich. It’s laughable and sad at the same time. We have been a shitshow since Osborne stepped down. I thought the joke was obvious on the wasteful spending in the last 15 plus years. We have already sent roughly 12-15 years worth of money to Ukraine for their entire defense budget.
It’s not even 3 months into the conflict and Ukraine is already receiving 48-60x the amount of funding as they allocated the previous 6 years when they were at war with Russia.
Thanks Gerrod for the update
