Sign Up Now!I go through a few different ranchers. Just go with whatever locker they normally go through. Rancher is a really strong word in these cases. They're row crop farmers that raise a handful. Wasn't sure if out west would be a little less wait time but doesn't sound like it.no clue. i just know appointments are a year out & the price is up to 2.21+ hanging. do you usually go through the same rancher or do you call and get on a waitlist at a locker?
Last one we took in was 1450 and hung at almost 900, the ones we have left are a little smaller. I’d guess 1350 on a few of themWhat are they weighing?
.
I thought you were making a joke about fat women. Do you have a locker date with a half available?Last one we took in was 1450 and hung at almost 900, the ones we have left are a little smaller. I’d guess 1350 on a few of them
I have them for family/extended family when they need it. Let me check in with some of them and see who needs some in the near future.I thought you were making a joke about fat women. Do you have a locker date with a half available?

hes 100% right
It would be disrespectful to ranchers to call them ranchers.

That was my point. Not sure where the disconnect was.Calling some rich Farmer with a hobby herd a Rancher is how you start a fight in the Sandhills or western Nebraska.
Do you know Herb Hall?our family farm is in the very southern tip of the Sandhills (3 miles south of Arnold)
We have 1 quarter of farm ground that we have historically always used for Milo and other feed but my dork cousins are trying to run drought resistant/tolerant corn on now.
everything else (little over 3,300 acres) is grass with some random pockets of timber in/around the canyons or hay meadows
mostly a bunch of shitty pasture but don't you DARE call yourself a rancher in front of real Ranchers.... you got some cropland don't you DARE call yourself a rancher
all joking aside tho, my Grandpa (like all real Cattlemen) despised the farmers in Eastern Nebraska/Cockeyes/Illinois/Indiana/etc that didn't have any livestock.
"Farmers have 4x4 on the side of their pickup cuz they plant for 4 weeks, harvest for 4 weeks and spend 44 weeks doing nothing."
vs.
24/7, 365 life of running livestock

That’s a big damn animal compared to the 1,200 lbers that we would usually consider “finished” and ready for market. (angus)Last one we took in was 1450 and hung at almost 900, the ones we have left are a little smaller. I’d guess 1350 on a few of them

Yea……those boys wouldn’t last long at this end of the state. Along with whatever other criteria you use to define a real rancher, doing yore owning branding goes a long ways out here.Calling some rich Farmer with a hobby herd a Rancher is how you start a fight in the Sandhills or western Nebraska.
