Suggestions on top places to go?
It probably depends what part of Nebraska you’re in. I’ve got partials from Doniphan, Fairfield, Holstein, and Amherst recently.Suggestions on top places to go?
I usually go through clients but they don't have any dates until late spring.Suggestions on top places to go?
Diller is pretty good if you’re in the SEIt probably depends what part of Nebraska you’re in. I’ve got partials from Doniphan, Fairfield, Holstein, and Amherst recently.
I would say Amherst is probably the best of those four but I haven’t tried my Holstein stuff yet. I’ve heard they are good. I like that Fairfield offers the heat and serve beef if you want it part of their package and I think their jerky is the best by far of any butcher shop I’ve ever tried.Diller is pretty good if you’re in the SE
Good tip…here in Lincoln so pretty close. Will check that out too.Diller is pretty good if you’re in the SE
My brother ranches out west, but long ways out and was hopeful to find at least a quarter before then…sounds like you got some good hook upsI usually go through clients but they don't have any dates until late spring.
You just go straight to the locker? It probably depends what part of Nebraska you’re in. I’ve got partials from Doniphan, Fairfield, Holstein, and Amherst recently.
What are they weighing?Got 8 fat angus right now. Depends how long it takes to catch one.
3-6 months would be a random guess but obviously each locker is different.
My dad always buys the three of us kids a 1/3 which was usually once a year, but he got going crazy the last two years and he would tell me go to whatever locker and pick it up. Sometimes he would buy a cow from a person he knew usually Kissinger and see if they could get it into a locker, but other times you can call up to a place like Amherst and they will just line you up with someone. When it was crazy during the early part of covid he got lucky and Doniphan actually had an opening because you were a year out at most other places. You just go straight to the locker?
I hear the Oxford guy will throw in a little something extra. It might be worth the extra drive time.Any recs around Elkhorn, NE? Not against driving a bit. I usually get a 1/3 from a co-worker but it fell thru this year
no clue. i just know appointments are a year out & the price is up to 2.21+ hanging. do you usually go through the same rancher or do you call and get on a waitlist at a locker?
