Breaking Applewhite announced

Evans... He went to Ole Miss...

"Dynamically athletic running back with prototype size and frame potential relative to the position. Owns college-ready build with frame space to add more bulk. Flashes elite athleticism verified in combine testing environment. Makes it look easy, sometimes to the point that it's deceptive. Shows great top-end speed and outstanding close-quarters lateral mobility confirmed by a 3.91 shuttle. Flashes devastating start-stop-start ability in close quarters, coupled with impressive hesitation stutter. Effortlessly strings moves together in the open field to elude multiple defenders. Chameleon in ability to alter running styles, going from elusive darter to hole-punching, straight-line galloper. Home run hitter with high-volume capability. Patient and presses the line of scrimmage to set up blocks. Size and strength potential could provide high ceiling in blitz pickup. At times dances in the backfield rather than accelerating through the hole. Sometimes an upright runner who presents a bigger target. Does not always finish runs with expected strength. Will try to bounce runs too often. Could get on the field immediately at high-major level and become a Power 5 star, in addition to first-round NFL Draft ceiling."

From what I was told Evans and Applewhite didn't get along. Applewhite was disciplined for benching Evans in not the right matter.

I have a contact who is a TCU fan... Started off with describing Applewhite as...."Don't get me wrong, he is a nice guy....."

Applewhite's a nice guy. Organized etc.. Probably better than held but all the "elite recruiter" things is just nonsense.

And Nebraska reporters acting like they sniped a guy from another p5 program. Nah dog, he was out of a job.

So 5.5 is lower
5.6. mid
5.7 high

Sounds like a bunch of lower 3* at G5 schools. Then mid at TCU.
.83 would be like a 5.5 or 5.6 for the rivals

in his defense, not many coaches out there who can get 4* talent to wyoming or colorado state
It's definitely is a bit yikes that is the card the media and some dumb fans are using.

Armstead lasted 6 months at TCU. Broke a bunch of team rules and basically was kicked from the program.

Dunno about the rest of "his recruits" but I hope it's better than the work he did at TCU.

So basically Dean & the boys fluffing Frost again to help make him look good to the common Potato Fans. From a coaching standpoint I have to believe Applewhite is an upgrade over Held at least.

It’s never been more clear that dean knows fuck all about what is going on in north stadium
It's pretty obvious from their interactions in Press Conferences that Frost doesn't respect Dean. He is not a sports reporter anymore, basically he is just concerned with having content for clicks and subscriptions. He is the king of Fluff Pieces and saying how great things are. The next tough question Dean asks Frost will be the first tough question Dean has asked Frost. BC and some of the other media definitely have more integrity as reporters.

247 guys aren't asking any tough questions either. Schaffer talks tough on radio but gets after people critical of Frost on the message board. BC and Bruntz are good writers though.

FYI Adam runs an analytic company that works with administration's on hiring coaches. So this isn't an every day Joe saying this.

He does analytics, but I don’t think there’s any analytics behind this kind of thing. I looked at his twitter feed periodically last year and he’s a bit of a Nebraska homer. He posted something at one point that indicated he was getting tons of shit about being wrong about NU and Frost, and he was pissy.

He is a good Twitter follow for his analytics stuff.

Oh he is 100% a husker fan.

Analytics is an art. It doesn't guarantee something but can help with your decision making. Jmo

I don't know if 4%=elite
Weird considering the sample size is like February 2020 to maybe three weeks ago. Seems like a meaningless data point.

Not even sure what recruits he got at TCU bc looking at 247 it looks like he was responsible for 1, in the context of a 23rd rank class last year and one in the 50s this year. Would be interested in seeing his data.

Probably doesn't know what he's talking about, but Dean's TT says that Frost only talked to three guys about RB position -- Pitre, Applewhite and Knox. That seems like a pretty thin hunt, given the amount of time it took.
