Just say “he hasn’t put it together and there are better options right now”. Maybe add some details if you know he’s struggling with something specific to provide a little value to your customers.

Yep, there were a million ways to handle that better and Dean decided to act like a jackass. Big time tool move. He's turned ANOTHER corner into bigger douche. It's honestly disappointing.

Scott should learn from his best mentor's example and not hype any player to the press. At that point, he can exert the same level of influence on the local sports media that TO did, and not even get asked any of those questions.

IIRC, and that's a big if, Scott hasn't hyped new recruits on signing day the way that the previous three coaches did. But, he has given too many shoutouts to newcomers early in practice that raise expectations from fans and media.

I wish I had insights more into the program right now. The only good source I SHOULD have was at the "guests of honor" table with my mom, Tom, Nancy, Larry, and Carol during Frost's wedding reception. Frost loves him, but the non-coaching staff keep a buffer that is hard to penetrate these days. And, the dude in question isn't really interested in going to practice. Before you blow me up like is typical on tater island, I'll give you a hint that you can look up. He's the guy that was quoted in the book that told the world that Bill Callahan referred to TO as "that crusty old fuck."

I was really surprised too...I mean Jesus, it is a fair question. Honestly I don’t expect him to take snaps from those top 3 that seem to be performing really well right now...but how about some background or any color you might have around it...take a deep breath big fella. So defensive.

Right...exactly. And listen, it’s ok to miss sometimes, nobody can see the future. But do one of two things...don’t be a douche, or tone down the rhetoric just a bit.

Yep, you gain a lot more credibility by saying, “he certainly has not lived up to the expectations of us or the staff.”
because he wasn’t wrong at the time.. that dude was brought in to play, sooner than later. Then he redshirts, is expected to get serious tick this year, and has essentially been a ghost.
