AJ Ferrari

And likely adds a few more cameras and eyes to wrestling. Never a bad thing.

He flipped off the Cockeye crowd when he was on their team. He sounds like a Husker already
I would slightly disagree with your first paragraph. What happens when our program is the one that’s getting dragged through the mud with his antics like other places have?

Absolutely agree with second paragraph.

lol group text is blowing up with this news. Not very happy. As we referenced prior, keep an eye on if Ziola gets pissed. Ferrari having 2 years left is making everyone I know say it will cause a problem. I haven’t seen or heard anything though that it’s actually an issue, just speculation.

I’m not tied into the wrestling community at all. More on the martial arts side with Muay Thai and BJJ. But a lot of guys I train with are big wrestling people. So it’ll be interesting to see what they say.

The quickest way in a non-revenue sport for a coach to get fired is to have his guys embarrass the university either in or outside of competitions. So Manning better know what he’s doing here.

I will tell you one thing about Tim Ziola is the guy has never ran from competition for his kids and has always sought the best training and coaching. If Manning sold this as an opportunity for Cade to train with one of the best at his weight class while Cade develops as a HWT, I am sure Tim would be behind it.

Most controversial college wrestler in existence and big personality.

Won the natty as a freshman at Okie St. Was charged with sexual assault and left the team, the case was later dropped.

Ended up training with Cockeye for a bit and famously gave their fans the double birds while doing the splits. Left Cockeye and only school that took him was Cal Bakersfield last year. Got 3rd at NCAA’s and will be favorite to win it this year.

Had committed to North Carolina but their admissions denied him due to his past sexual assault allegation.

He has a massive personality and social media following . Would compare him to like Brian Bosworth if there was a college football comparison.
Just received the following in a text from my brother (lives in Allen, TX):

Well… good luck to Nebraska for acquiring this huge piece of shit.

We have semi known of this fuck wad since he was in elementary school. The whole family is known as ass wipes.

He has a little ‘raping of women’ problem. Was asked by Allen High school to “Please leave. You are no longer welcome here.”

Moved to Mellisa where my brother in law is a high school principal.

AJ’s sexual harassment issues continued in Mellisa.

At Oklahoma State he was dismissed from the school despite winning a national title. He was dismissed for actually raping a few girls.

Nice guy to have around. 🙄

Manning survived two of his guys making gay porn, didn’t he? He’ll be fine with a guy flipping off the crowd.
That's just the 5 on 2 hold. Textbook wrestling.

Ya I don’t claim to know what is right or wrong for that sport.

They are pretty much saying “there’s a reason that he committed to UNC last week then they pulled the offer. He swung at a teammate in Cockeye City then hit a ref. And he had sexual allegations against him where his camp harassed the accuser so much that her attorney stated she dropped the charges because it was starting to effect her career.”

I don’t know what’s all true with Ferrari. Feel pretty confident it will more than likely end like it has at his other 4 stops. But that’s just what the numbers say right now.

Bold move by Manning and his staff either way. Lawrence Philips analogy is the closest I’ve seen to shed light for people that don’t follow wrestling or his story.

He’s found the Lord brother. Give the boy a chance and stop white knighting

He hasn’t had 4 stops. The Oklahoma St stuff was bad, no denying that. He was never on the Cockeye wrestling team. He was training at their RTC during the season with possible plans to join the team the following year. Someone posted the video, he didn’t punch a teammate or a ref. It was more of a slap or a tap and he accidentally caught the ref it. Certainly douche bag behavior.

With that said, he went to Cal Bakersfield and by all account put his head down and got to work, was a great teammate. When he lost in semis at NCAA’s this year everyone was expecting him to have a meltdown and he gave a relatively mature interview. Most people in wrestling community felt this past year performance on and off the mat made him deserving of another shot at a major school.

Definitely a risk involve and all eye balls are going to be on Manning and Nebraska as this kid is the biggest draw in wrestling at the moment. People wanting to watch a train wreck. I think Manning is confident in the guys and leadership in his room for this to work.

I got no problem giving the kid another chance. He's just a hard person to root for or get behind. Talent is obvious, just hope he isn't a huge rapey douche as a Husker.
