TO hiring Solich without $ Bill’s input fucked the program. Plain and simple.
Welcome to The Platinum Board. We are a Nebraska Husker news source and fan community.
Sign Up Now!Bullshit, Solich was fine. The problem is we had dipshits that thought they knew football and in their wisdom thought Nebraska needed to change what we had perfected for a couple of down years that we would love to have right now.TO hiring Solich without $ Bill’s input fucked the program. Sure....the last 20 years plus of evidence is not on your side.... how about all that talent we have now? how about all those facilities and NIL money we throw at our "star" power. We had a system that worked period.... Yes let's keep doing these like you guys want, it has worked so wellI wish we’d kept Solich a couple more years so dopes like you could see how bad things were going to get - the talent was eroding at a very rapid clip
Just because Plan B didn't work out doesn't prove Plan A would have eitherSure....the last 20 years plus of evidence is not on your side.... how about all that talent we have now? how about all those facilities and NIL money we throw at our "star" power. Yes I agree, but the percentages were better with sticking with Plan A and a system that worked for the programJust because Plan B didn't work out doesn't prove Plan A would have either
It would have been interesting to see what he could of done if they weren't shoving him out the door his last year for Frost.Mike Riley was the last best coach we had.
Gave the keys to Solich instead of Alvarez. Seems like a huge mistake. If we are engaging in the way back machine how about we go back and kick TO in the balls until he doesn't force Solich as his successor.

This could be wrong but I seem to remember insiders of the time saying Dollar Bill had Bob Stoops at least interested. Think about that and weep.Gave the keys to Solich instead of Alvarez. Seems like a huge mistake.

He could have been but you only fire Bo if you have a good coach lined up. We hired Riley who was a year away from being fired at OSU.It’s all hypothetical, but I’m of the opinion that Bo was about a year or two away from crashing and burning.
Don’t know of someone else posted this but holy everloving shit this is so fucking depressing:
The system worked fine and it still works fine. Let any system, you must commit to it and not have a grab bag of everything which is what we have done for 20 years. Guys like you are why are program sucks, we were fine until "experts" like you thought we needed to "change", worked out great....again data is not on your sideThere’s no evidence for this and the system wasn’t working any more - Nebraska was actively getting worse under Solich and again, I would have gladly sacrificed a few more seasons in retrospect so it could run into the ground hard enough to stop hearing dopes like you argue this point.

For peats sake, we had ONE .500 season with 7 wins.....listen to yourself. We bounced back pretty well the next year. Plus to add, if TO who built the damn program decided he was the guy then so be it. You give him that respect not turn the keys over to an AD that had little to do with anything that made the program greatYeah true because programs do traditionally go from playing in a national championship to .500 when things are going well, great point.
And frank Solich was quickly scooped up and had great success at another Power 5 school, excellent point.
again, this is a fallacy - just because Plan B didn’t work out doesn’t mean Plan A wasn’t going to obviously fail - we should have given it more time to watch that happen.
