They sacked BYU- it looked like to end the game but refs called defensive holding to keep the drive alive

This idea that if you win everything was cool but if you lose then the system was rigged against you is bullshit. My dad had his gambling problems and every time he lost it was because the game was "fixed". Utah isn't having the season they wanted and now it's a conspiracy. BTW - the refs have sucked everywhere, not just the big 12....which means it's fair.

I'd also like to point out that if you want to fix an outcome you call holding in the first quarter early and make a few bad calls throughout. You don't wait until almost the last possible play of the game to make your move.

If it was something they have been calling throughout the game, I agree that is defensive holding.

If that just came up on the last drive, then its bullshit.

I think we can all agree that refs suck, but when a crew comes into a game, they have the first few drives for both sides to establish, 'this is how I'm calling the game.' If by the 4th Q and definitely last drives that you deviant from what you were calling the first few drives, then yes, its bullshit.

Yeah, but all the replays show that the call he was talking about was correct. A lot more blown calls have been made way more worthy of taking such a stand. This was right after the game based purely on emotion and it's going to cost him bigly.

I worked with the white hat a lot at Nebraska practices. He's from Omaha. Hasn't responded to any of my requests for a comment yet.

His crew has worked the #1 or #2 fmgame of Big 12 each week.

I don't think it was a defensive holding. Not because defender didn't hold or impede the WR, it wasn't because of the timing of it. The hold happened as QB is under pressure and isn't looking down field.

Ppl shouldn’t dismiss the possibility that these conferences have a TON of money on the line when it comes to competing for tv money with other conferences, this is over the next 5 years or so.

Big 12 is about as desperate as any & the other is the ACC who has helped Miami quite a bit. Watch Colorado potentially have a controversial ending now that going to the big 12 title game is a legit possibility & the Deion ratings/attention would be huge.

U can’t “fix” games but u certainly can influence them, like a ref can’t stop a ball from going into the hoop & humans are like any intelligent animal that can figure out what behavior is being rewarded & punished. I can see why it was called or wouldn’t be called but I’m also not going to dismiss the possibility that the refs were well aware of what was on the line for the big 12. If Utah was undefeated, I bet that gets ignored 9/10 times.
