Breaking ABM

Someone in Nebraska with connections needs to start a professionally run NIL collective
wasn't there a rumor that some of the basketball players got screwed over pretty bad on money? Not sure if it was ABM or not that did that. I noticed that for a while on ABM's website that they mentioned working with specific football and volleyball players but no mention of any basketball players.

Honestly if I wanted to give up my life at the Lake of the Ozarks I would move back there and set up a competing company. I have enough experience in entertainment/sports management and marketing plus quite a few good business connections that it wouldn't be tough to quickly get it off of the ground. I'd love to get back to being involved with the sports or music industries but not if it means I need to move to Lincoln. Lake Life has been very good to me.

Basketball issue was pre ABM. Basketball also didn’t want to get involved with ABM but were more or less forced to.

Thanks, I'd never heard the details of what went down. Just that some basketball players were very unhappy with what was promised and what they actually got.

You could do it from there. You'd have to make some trips to Lincoln but you could easily raise the money from the Ozarks and have other people take the kids out and stuff. Could do everything else over the phone/computer.

I'm hands on when owning/opening a business. I'm "All Gas, No Brakes" so would be charging ahead at 100 mph. Definitely would be fun but my boat is looking at me right now saying "Let's Rock"

You're not a big enough douche to run an NIL cOlLeCtIvE either. With all due respect

You really don't always need to be a douche to succeed in some of those cut throat industries. There were so many scummy shady sharks in the Music World but I kept my nose clean and had a rep for being honest plus hard working. Bands really appreciated not having to worry about getting ripped off. Actually after a while I had a nickname of "The Freak in the Mountains" from the bands. Because unlike most promoters in Colorado I wasn't coked out/stoned/drunk or even dealing drugs and never shorted them on money, hospitality or hotel rooms.

Most of the time Tour Managers know when they are getting ripped off on pay outs but many times can't prove it. We screwed up on a Pay Out for a show and shorted the band quite a bit of money as the ticket count was incorrect. Called the band's management company, apologized and sent them a big fat certified check. He said he had never had that happen before as everyone else would have just kept the money. Word spread fast. It got to the point that some tour managers didn't even count the pile of cash I handed them at the end of the night as they trusted me. Unfortunately at the end of a long day I didn't always trust myself to have counted the money correctly.

Another way to stand out for touring bands is to make sure that the catering is top notch, and I did that. Life on the road living out of a tour bus and suitcase for 2-4 months at a time is rough so any extra love you give them is appreciated. Build the relationships and that will build the business. Surround yourself with good people who are smarter than you.

Don't get me wrong, you're a huge douche. Just not a big enough douche to say "hi, I'm MTNhusker and I'm the head of Nebraska's NIL collective."

Gerrod does set the Douche Standard, and it is quite high. Would have my work cut out for me. He seems like the type of guy that is you took him out for a business dinner at a nice steakhouse that he would order the most expensive steak and ask for extra Sour Cream for his baked potato, and then never use it.
