Hello Platinum Board members and welcome to Dick Heat Thursday! This will be a weekly piece aimed at saying what I want to say, but can't due to bans and points.
1) The anger among us B1G football fans is starting to bubble over into social media, Hy Vee parking lots and even churches. Which is why news of a "potential" vote this coming Sunday or Monday (Source @Sir Yacht) was news that could've only came from our Maker above. I hope to god it passes.
2) Watching other B-league colleges play football this past weekend was fucking stupid. SMU/Texas St was the only game worth a shit. That BYU/Navy game was awful (BLOWOUT!) and weird to watch. Plus I hate BYU. Prime-Time Monday game with...10 people in attendance there maybe? Thanks China virus.
3) Speaking of the China virus, here is a good synopsis of most of America starting in January:
January - Ah fuck, Kobe died. That sucks.
February - I hear there is this China virus that killed half of China.
March - Oh fuck, it's here. Stay safe. Stay home. Quarantine for 2 weeks.
April - Are you and your family staying healthy? Still at home. What happened to 2 weeks?
May - Hmmmm. Numbers are showing we are still on the up and up, but we've been quarantined for 2 months it seems. I don’t know anyone who has the China virus. Wait, some guy died from a motorcycle accident and got chalked up to Covid?
June - Let’s open up! MAGA!
July - We tried opening up but then the “Covid numbers" went up. Fuck. Back to square 1.5 phase of 10.
August - Deaths numbers are going down still? Still closed? Positive cases are people in their 20's but aren't sick? 6% of all COVID deaths were only due to COVID? What? Football not happening? Still no concerts? WTF!
September- California is outlawing Halloween? That's it. This will end in November. Fuckin MAGA!
4) Does Kevin Warren keep his job if they bring back B1G football in October? Also, does the B1G not have a sole Medical Director that oversees everything?
5) Wisconsin what a shame. It couldn't have happened to the only team I hate more than BYU.
6) If we do get to play a season, I wonder how many fans will be allowed at Memorial Stadium? I know oldred will be staying tucked away. I could see there being 25K fans, maybe more. I went to a casino the other day and when you walk in, you stand in front of a camera that takes your forehead temp. Takes 1 second. I think Memorial Stadium could grab a hundred or so of those and temperature scan in fans before they head in.
