Only issue is I think Whip is about to kill that cool option game we saw last year.

It seems as though we are always a few critical pieces short talent wise to fill out the 3-4, particularly in the front 7. We have not had a consistent pass rush during that span when it seemed every year in the 4-3 it was at least respectable.

It's like when we were trying to run the WCO and all we needed was a pro-style QB, big/fast NFL WR's and some 5 star OT's to pull it off. That's it, that's all we need.

Ya the option is pry gone for now with Whipple's arrival. Whipple is old though, and he will pry only be here for a few years. I wonder if Frost will take over the offense again after he leaves.

Man I'll never forget when Nebraska fielded a decent 4-3 defense under Mark Banker and RSS had weekly threads about moving to the 3-4 because they thought it was easier to recruit hybrid athletic kids to be OLBs vs recruiting 4-3 DE's to rush the passer.

I've thought about that for a couple months. If they really do "blend" things, I think it'll look like a Big Ben/Jerome Bettis straight line running attack due to Whip's time in Pittsburgh since he talks about it so much, some option concepts mixed in from Frost, and an LSU spread passing game due to the Mick/Whip combo.
