It seems like every time I watch them they need the other team to massively shit the bed. And it always happens.

I do recall their fans in Lincoln in 2005 being very chippy. Most opposing fans that have never been to Lincoln (back when NU had a winning program) were simply happy to take in the experience and accepted a loss. The Pitt fans I sat next to were all in on talking shit and didn't take that loss well.

That was one god awful game between ex-NFL coaches.

I was in tech sales at that time, and had a remote colleague who was a Pitt grad. Our wager for the game was the loser had to serenade the winner with their team's "fight song". To her credit, she interrupted the sales meeting on Monday and dutifully belted out a stirring rendition of "There is no place like Nebraska".

IIRC, we won the thing when Potter blocked a couple of field goals, including one that would have been the game winner.
