Lack of money would be the simple answer. You’re right when you say Nebraska isn’t spending like they want to win anything of significance. Is it going to be a common theme whoever coaches, or are some boosters not willing to spend with the product they have seen on the field?

I think you have 2 to 3 teams if you will of big money donors and they each want their way…and not one who can outspend them all and is willing to do so. If they don’t get their way, they take a fair amount of their dollars and go home.

Someone can tell me I’m wrong, I’d love to hear it, and be wrong. I believe we’ve had toxicity at the top of that money tree and associated administration for a long time. They want their names on buildings to satisfy egos, manipulate with dollars to move pieces on the board for that ego. When they all can’t get in the same page, ultimately we don’t have enough to match those you see out their buying their teams.

It doesn’t excuse all results on the field either obviously. It may however, just be enough that we won’t ever be competitive with those schools that have been talked about.

They’re too busy paying an over inflated and over staffed AD. Go look at home many six figure “administrators”’ are on the AD payroll. They need to cut the fat and stream like this bitch. The AD spends too much money on other things that aren’t winning.
Also this over inflated coaching staff. Use the money you’re spending on a safeties only coach in the portal

I don't know when it gets updated but I would be interested to see how much money is being spent on the football staff and how it would compare with other teams.

I also don’t think Clemson’s academic requirements are any laxer than Nebraska’s.

24/7 national people have this as being a done deal for Clemson and Burburija.

NU spent way to long resolving what it was doing at the DT coach position and it killed any quality portal options. This should have been a deal that was quietly being done by "working" quietly with a candidate in November and announcing the second that the portal opened. That is how the big boys do this sort of thing.

You have one right. The other is the OL. A Nebraska fan should know that by now with the shitty offensive lines we have had in recent history.

Yea for sure OL is important and they seemed to address it but a few of those guys are projects, they should have taken notice that an elite RB can make your shit OL look a lot better.

Yeah it doesn’t at all. No excuse there. There are multiple story lines at play on why we are where we are. That’s just one of them.

Yea for sure OL is important and they seemed to address it but a few of those guys are projects, they should have taken notice that an elite RB can make your shit OL look a lot better.

The saw EJ carry the O this year and still decided to stand pat. Maybe they can develop the room. We’ll see.

OL was pretty damn good at run blocking this year. Rocco and Lutovsky deserve quite a bit of credit for that. Replacing them won’t be easy. Evans and Pritchett will be better, and RT will be better with a breathing body there. Guards are in no way an auto upgrade
