No...I fully admit that this would suck and be considered a big loss.

But it's also interesting that people are more upset about losing him than they were excited that he committed.

Anthony Jones is not horrible and a waste of a roster spot lol. There is a reason why he has stayed in the Big Ten his entire career. Now, there is also a reason why he is a journeyman and has been to 5 schools in 5 years. I don't expect him to be Randy Gregory by any means. I think he is slightly worse, but on par with Dasan McCullough. So, as a depth piece, he is a quality get.

Without adding another EDGE, we need to hope that McGahee takes that step forward now and is able to be that guy for us.
Idk man quite a bit of people were excited about getting Burburija. Now if true that he can’t academically qualify at Nebraska not much you can do but then he wouldn’t qualify at Clemson either. Big loss and don’t see the problem with taking all 3 of them (Green, Berrymon and Burburija) the Stoudmire thing is interesting because he’s basically coming off 2 season ending injuries. Anthony Jones is basically the equivalent as a 3 star or above freshman would rather they use that spot on a prospect. He’s much worse than McCullough and less versatile.

So Clemson is seemingly confident he can qualify there but we aren’t entirely confident he can here? Aren’t their admission standards higher than NUs?
Maybe they don't mind taking the qualifier risk given their situation. It sounds like we think we can get 1-2 guys. They may not have a fallback.

Look I don't think Tony Jones should have been the only edge they brought in, but he's a 23 year old who can play in the Big Ten now vs. a freshman edge who at best 2 years away.

Again, I don't really like anything they've done on the edges since bringing in Nwaneri, but Jones can play tomorrow

That’s fair I suppose

Someone please verify Grok can be hit or miss.

This post from @TransferPortal
summarizes last-minute transfer intel as the NCAA football portal closes on January 17, 2026, focusing on high-profile moves like Kansas State RB Dylan Edwards drawing rival Kansas interest after entering the portal.
Tennessee LB Arion Carter withdraws his 2026 NFL Draft declaration to join the portal, boosting his 2027 draft stock and sparking speculation of a landing spot at Alabama amid limited immediate NFL readiness.
Colorado OT Jordan Seaton officially enters the portal, igniting an NIL bidding war with Texas and Oregon, while Ohio State CB Aaron Scott and Oregon DL Terrance Green (a third-round prospect) schedule visits to Tennessee and Nebraska, respectively, highlighting defensive talent shifts.

Oregon DL Terrance Green
Terrance Green arrived at Alabama on Friday, and a visit to Cal looms. Nebraska has also been a school factoring into the recruitment, but the Cornhuskers picked up a commitment from a transfer defensive lineman on Friday.

I’d feel much better if we landed them but I’m not counting on it with the way things have gone
