Counterpoint: Woodward is a mid AD that makes overpriced hires of bad fits, & vastly underperforms given the resources he has, & LSU will be in a much stronger spot if they have an ugly few weeks, but bring in someone capable to direct their athletics & make smarter decisions.
Of course, the current fiasco and direct meddling from the governor's office could make a lot of good candidates think twice about taking the job.

Certainly possible. Although with the AD being a state employee who potentially put the state on the hook for a massive buyout, I'm not entirely sure that "meddling" would be the term I'd use when the state's chief executive wades into that.

Saban just said same thing about LSU. My objection of your Dawgs in the Corn post is you said a win was a given because of that bankroll, which we see isn't the case every single year including this year. Texas and Penn State great examples. I also objected to the article you posted and UGA's spot in the $$ ranking. I've seen 6 articles to the contrary, but didn't post because nobody actually knows values and money spent. But, to succeed in current landscape you have to be in top 15 spenders to be in contention year in and out.
There is no way to consistently be competitive to win the playoffs without it. GA takes it to an extreme with on top of max NIL they are also paying their high school commits while they are in hs.

AD already can't do that unilaterally though. It's definitely an atypical arrangement for a governor to get directly involved but so was stealing money from a children's hospital to fund sleep pods in the locker room, so let your freak flag fly KING governor.

See, that is where you say stupid stuff. Bravo dragging me back into your world of believing what you want. Just when I start forgetting how dumb you are, you pop back in and remind me haha. Peace out girl scout.

GA should bring their NIL down to $20mm and not pay high school recruits to see if it affects their program and talent levels.

Buyout is from private funds and donors. Agreed the AD needs to go if you're an LSU fan, but the Gov just making noise and although appoints folks to commission he can't kick them off and has no say if they don't want to follow his direction. Hopefully he doesn't back down and the commission starts getting into it. LSU athletics and politics mixing will be great theater.

They’re talking themselves into…#2ndChoice?

They actually had someone advocating for Fluke? 🤣 Literally can’t make this shit up. Can you imagine the Wisconsin athletic department when they get the call from Florida requesting to interview Fluke. 🤣 Probably think it was a prank call at 1st. 🤣

Might be the 1st time a school negotiates down their coaches buyout…

Florida: “I understand his current buyout is $5 million, correct?”

Wisconsin: “Ya, no ya this is actually really great timing for you. Just so happens we’re waiving all buyouts right now and we can have him on a plane tomorrow. You betcha!”

With all these coaching changes the mind usually goes to trying to snag some transfer players, but is there any assistant coaches or even coordinators that would be upgrades for NU out there?

Of course there is or will be. But with this extension I highly doubt will see much change. Highly doubt we’ll see Donnie fired or demoted. Maybe best case scenario Rhule hires a “co-offensive line” coach to help the situation. Barthel has been underwhelming, but this year, despite the lack of depth, our starting RB might be the best player on the team. I’m not sure who else you’re gonna get rid of? Satterfield is about to become a lot cheaper and his room has played well and has been a strength.

Will be a lot of great coaches looking for a new job and a lot of them will have some players they could potentially bring with them. But guess is we won’t be throwing our hat in the ring for any of them. JMO

You have to listen to this video with the sound on. Unreal accent from their governor.

I’m not necessarily saying their governor is an idiot, he’s probably not IDK. But I’m never trusting or taking advice from someone that sounds like English is their second language but was born and lived in the US their entire life. I think even southerns would agree that you can’t even remotely sound intelligent with that accent. Impossible.
