I think it had more to do with us looking tired and not playing hard on defense. Subs had been sitting at the scorer's table for awhile with no stoppage in play. No, but I speculate he's (medical) redshirting to return next season. It would be huge if this happens. You can apply for, and typically get, a medical redshirt in MBB if you play in a limited amount of games and none after the halfway point of the season...
And so far, Oogie has played in 1 game (New Hampshire) which was game #13 (less than halfway point). He 100% qualifies for a medical redshirt.
He played for 2.5 minutes after his injury.
Fred called a timeout at this point. Andy Katz interviewed Fred during the TO and he said (paraphrase) he called it because he didn't like the flow we were in. IMO, that had to do with Frager favoring his injury.
How about we compromise and go gay 12 y/o?
Not being able to quote vdoubs fix may have taken my post out of context.
Frager has averaged 23 minutes per game in B1G play with an 11.5 points per game average.
- We'll need our rotation of 7 to make up the minutes; 3.5 minutes more per guy
- We'll need our rotation of 7 to make up the points; 1.65 points more per guy
Sounds easy, but it's not. IIRC, it seems Fred has subbed out Mast & Sandfort at the same time. Without Frager, I don't think he can do this anymore, at least for an extensive period of time. It leaves us basically one shooter on the court, Lawrence or even Hoiberg, which isn't ideal.
SH - JL - PS - BB - RM is our starting 5.
Cale will continue to come in for Jamarques &/or Sam. This leaves Garcia to replace Sandfort, Berke &/or Mast.
I don't see Pryce & Rienk sitting at the same time, unless the score is really in our favor to do so (8-10+ point lead). Rotations are going to be interesting to watch come Saturday against Minnesota.
As one of the few Husker fans out there that is a bigger fan of the basketball team than the football team I completely agree with everything you said. Robin is the sole reason I'm still on that board. If Robin wasn't there or didn't cover basketball I would've left that board over 5 years ago. Some of you guys either have just started following Nebraska basketball closely this year or are letting your hatred for Dean cloud your judgment. Robin has been the top Nebraska basketball reporter for quite some time now and it’s not particularly close.
He is closer to the program and breaks more stories than anyone else out there. Deans a tool but Robin has always been cool by my book and I’ve appreciated the coverage he has given the program even through the down years.
Johnny on the spot!!
Also, Sam's chest passes are strong and on target!!
Yeah Robin's hoops coverage is great and he probably deserves this run as much as anybodyAs one of the few Husker fans out there that is a bigger fan of the basketball team than the football team I completely agree with everything you said. you guys already know this BUT...for pure shooters, getting the pass in the shot ready position to lift and fire is CRUCIAL to success. This is something the boys are doing exceptionally currently and I'm sure practice A TON!! from the video you can clearly see these passes are in the right spot, MOST of the time to get that shot off. Pryce especially loves to get that pass right at his sternum to lift and fire!
just wanted to make that point

No Bergen tweet from @PonyBoy las night ;-)Everyone needs to relax on Frager. This means we can get more minutes for Cale! Stat line vs Washington below, add another 19 minutes to that and just imagine!

Still undefeated with Cale at 10+ minutes. Gonna need Garcia to step up, even more than he did at Illinois, otherwise ugh.

I got blow back for saying we shouldn’t have Cale on the floor if we want to go to the tourney and win and got the pancake crowd riled up. Nebraskans love these stories and it takes focus off of the tourney goals.
Are you not excited about Sam running point and Cale getting more minutes in B10 play? You don’t think that will translate to at least seven more wins?
I laughed but in reality Garcia is the one picking up minutes. Cale's minutes were about the same as the last 10 games.Everyone needs to relax on Frager. This means we can get more minutes for Cale! Stat line vs Washington below, add another 19 minutes to that and just imagine!
