DL Coach Hawt Board v2.0

This is either going to be worthless or decent intel on our new DL coach.

So what I got so far -

First can’t confirm. Cant deny. Still working.

But the two people I’ve talked to said “Best recruiter and coach on staff” and things like “Players love him and will do anything for him” and “everybody in any office at IWCC loves him.”

Damon Benning doesn’t just talk about guys like this when we have an opening on staff with zero reason. Remember, he spent full segments talking about a couple of head coaching candidates he liked back last time we were in the market and he also talked about the guy from Toledo as a DC candidate.

We also have Tollefson here who helped at IWCC with Terry.

Aaron also fits Rhule’s MO for DL coaches.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Aaron has been approached. We’ll see what else we can find out the rest of the evening.

Appreciate the info. On the surface, especially after 30+ days of a vacancy, it'll be Rhule's worst hire.

could this be for an off the field role? Recruiting coordinator or something?
cause if Rhule hires a 10 year JUCO position... not head... position coach to be a FT assistant.

fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck that

He’s probably serviceable. But we need to stop projecting guys and start hiring guys who do the job successfully today.

If you had the money to be in the mix for Elijah Robinson this is a fucking non-starter. Go find a good P4 DL coach who recruits and maybe can even bring a P4 player or two with him.

The portal season has gone better than the Minchey thing would have indicated. But every bit of the strategy around the DL seems be poverty level at this point.

I don’t mean to come off as a homer guys. I never crossed paths with Aaron. I know a lot of people who have. But he wouldn’t know me and I wouldn’t know him if I saw him on the bus.

What I’ll say is that you can be of the opinion that you want someone else. Totally fine. But honestly, the guy put 3 of his DL on all conference teams in the ACC this year in Lubin, Van Den Berg, and Copeland. Two of those guys have eligibility left in Lubin (8.5 sacks in the ACC) and Copeland (VaTech DT) and Van Den Berg could find himself getting a Deigo Pavia waiver (315 LB NT who was first team all conference).

So Aaron is not a bad football coach at all and there’s not a doubt in my mind he’ll get a D1 opportunity extremely soon.

We could do much worse.

Aaron could very well bring one all conference ACC DT from VaTech, another one pending a waiver from GaTech, and an 8.5 sack man from Louisville with him.

He's sent 46 guys D1 from the DL...sorry im from IWCC and love the guy. He can flat out coach
and yet. not one of those schools ever was like "yo this guys a great coach. lets bring him in when we have an opening"

instead it might nebraska.. who's got exactly like 1 DL recruit in 10 years 🤣
