So how do we reconcile “they didn’t really think the room was that good when they said it was” with not pursuing a RB?

Or maybe the RB thing is just wrong.
Personally, I think they will still go after a RB. This is a bad year for portal RBs so far.

One smaller factor is that they may have though Rule looked good in bowl practices.

Is he any good?

Is the contract signed or is he still looking for his lucky pen?

Speaking for myself here; without seeing the rest of our spending allocation, I likely wouldn’t bitch about it. If that’s the market for a quality QB that the staff has identified as their top option then that’s the market. Willing buyers and sellers don’t care about our feelings regarding what a “good price” is.
I agree if they felt that Minchey was the best portal QB and would be an immediate starter.

I think they wanted to execute a plan that would bring in a guy with potential that hasn't played to get him at a lower cost and "compete" with LaQueef for the starting job. It's a seemingly good plan unless someone else identifies the same guy as THE guy and pays them that type of money.

Now, if NU actually thought he was THE guy and tried to get him at the price of "a guy", then they fucked up. They had to know that some other competent coaching staff would be able to see the same thing in him and commit to him financially and give him the job.

I posted this on Husker Board......

90 PFF in 23 VS Georgia
80 PFF in 24 vs VS Vandy
60.1 PFF in 25 over last five games in 25. Had trouble with run protection, allowed one sack in 25.

EDIT: 6' 5", 330 lbs. Played for Lonnie Teasley last season at South Carolina.

The real Dana Holgorsen is alive somewhere. He lives on deep inside of the pale imitation of DH we employ in Lincoln.

I believe the real Dana still exists. But he needs something to bring him back to life. Colandrea might be enough of a psycho nutter to bring out the real DH lol

(Check down king Dylan was the worst thing we could have - he made imitation Dana stronger. Check down after check down)
So this is something I've been thinking a lot about, and I'm honestly surprised I haven't seen anyone here discuss it.

In multiple interviews, Dana has said they didn't change the offense. So we aren't actually running Dana's offense, we're running Satterfield's with Dana calling the plays. I think this is the source of a lot of our offensive woes.

I lived in Stillwater when Dana was OC there and went to a lot of games. That offense was dynamic. It put up points and yards. I wish we'd ditch whatever hybrid Frankenstein Satterfield/Holgs offense they're running and just let Dana do his thing.
