Paying Rhule $12.5M and nobody bats an eye but heaven forbid we give Minchey $2M to prevent ourselves from watching Aidan fucking Chiles in Lincoln next year
Agreed. Schools need to flip this. No reason to pay these crazy salaries for head coaches and buyouts, when the quickest way to flip a roster and win is paying your players more

It’s time for Rhule, boosters, nil, etc to nut the fuck up and play big boi ball. Fuck this Nebraska way and development bullshit. That’s not the reality of CFB.

Im gonna give one more year to HES but if shit doesn’t change I’m outsy.
It’s time to find a new foosball team to follow or find a new hobby for that season. Haven’t been a big boy program for decades. Always way way behind in what needs to be done teetering on disaster.

I’ve already given up on Nebraska being a serious player in college football. They had their chance last year and tried to play in the big 10 with a big 12 defensive* line.

And what’s worse is I defended them at the time. Shows what I know.

That was more of a G5 DL

I would pay Jim $1M to coach the team and take the other $11.5M and put it to NIL tomorrow if we could
Not so sure. Jim’s an accountant. Guy would immediately take money ball to the next level…the water heads would absolutely explode with his version of 11.5 mil money ball.

Kinda curious how Rhule preaches his way out of this disaster
oh shit. i found pastor matt's notes

“Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9

There are seasons in life that feel long.

Seasons where the work is hard, the results are thin, and the question quietly creeps in: Is this still worth it?

The Bible never pretends those seasons don’t exist. Scripture is full of wilderness years, exile years, rebuilding years. God’s people spend far more time learning to endure than they do celebrating instant victory.

And in a very Nebraska way, we understand that.

For years now, Nebraska football has lived in a hard season. Close losses. Rebuilds that took longer than promised. Hope every fall, heartbreak by November. And yet—Memorial Stadium still fills. Fans still wear red. Parents still teach their kids the stories. Why?

Because Nebraska football isn’t just about winning. It’s about who we are when winning is hard.

That’s a sermon all by itself.

Adversity reveals character. Easy times can hide it, but hard times expose it. When things go wrong, we learn what we truly believe—about God, about ourselves, and about each other.

In James 1 we hear:
“Consider it pure joy whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.”

Not because trials are good—but because perseverance is.

Nebraska football has been tested. And yet the discipline remains. The weight room still opens early. Practice still happens in the heat. Players still run out of the tunnel together, even when the record says they shouldn’t expect applause.

That’s faithfulness.

And faithfulness matters more to God than flash.
More than quick turnarounds.
More than highlight reels.

God doesn’t ask us to control outcomes—He asks us to show up.

Bad times don’t mean God has left the field. Often, they mean He’s building something deeper than a scoreboard can show. Strength that lasts. Unity that doesn’t depend on circumstances. Hope that survives disappointment.

Romans 5 reminds us:
“Suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.”

Notice the order. Hope doesn’t come first. It comes after endurance.

So if you’re in a bad season—personally, spiritually, or as a fan who’s said “maybe next year” more times than you can count—hear this:

God is not finished.
The work still matters.
The discipline still counts.
And showing up still glorifies Him.

Nebraska football teaches us this: you don’t quit on your identity just because the season is hard. You stay. You believe. You keep building.

And faith teaches us something even greater:
Resurrection only comes after perseverance through the cross.

So we keep walking.
We keep trusting.
We keep wearing red.
And we keep believing that God does His best work in people who refuse to give up in the bad times.

Because in God’s economy—and in Nebraska—adversity is not the end of the story.

Amen.

Really wishing he would’ve just been fucking forthright so we could’ve gotten a second option.

But I believe most of the top 8 or so are spoken for now. Even Harvard boy is out

Joseph, wiscy.

Go get Rashada and roll the damn dice I guess

I don't know what UK is paying Minchey but there has to be a limit on our end. I don't think giving multiple millions of dollars to a completely unproven QB makes sense.
I’m sorry but I have to just say this

It’s COLLEGE FOOTBALL. There is no salary cap. NONE of this makes sense.

The more rational thought anyone tries to apply to talent acquisition the less effective they are going to be

The best teams go out and pay the guys they want whatever the number is. There is no replacement level guy that can replace the best EDGE guys in the portal. This isn’t NFL free agency where another guy who is basically the same is available. There are pools of 2-5 elite guys available across each position group and the price tag reflects that reality accordingly.

Acting like the money spending has to make sense is why we’re gonna be watching DJ Lagway and his bum shoulder throw 20 INT here next year when they had a guy who they liked from Day 1 committed. Until we get away from this “positional value” “fiscal responsibility” “money ball” mentality we’re just doing the same song and dance with different names and scores
